    Hello everyone,

A little over a week ago I became the owner of this 2021 rwd TRD Sport, 56k miles.

Came from a 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6R. Have been a Subaru guy since I was able to purchase my first car but decided it was time for a change. Learned to drive when I was 13 in a 1994 4x4 Pickup so it's only fitting I finally buy a Tacoma. No plans for mods except LED headlights down the road and a set of running boards.

Glad to be part of the group and hope to learn alot about these trucks.

    Nice ride!

I'm partial to The Sport since I have the opposite color of your's.

I removed the Air Dam when I installed the TRD Skid--I got mine for $302/including shipping back in 2021.

The OEM LED Headlights are a Big Purchase! Each was roughly $660 and I was able to get the Harness from Dave Easa; hit up @Puppypunter later.

Are you mostly street driver or are you planning on going off-road?

Plenty to learn here so enjoy your new-to-you Tacoma.

Thanks! No offloading for me, will be mostly city driving with a trip to California once a year or so.

It's an old joke from FB, I put up a profilw picture of a Pug for April Fools back in 2015 and everyone started calling my Senor Pug

We live in Dallas TX but I have family in Southern California, Los Angeles area. We took at trip with the Outback last year and it did well, hoping to take the Tacoma either this year or next.

You'll have to tell me what kind of gas mileage you get on that long trip! lol

I was stationed at Dyess AFB, Abilene TX and never drove to LA for our visits...always flew.

I've got the face only a mother could love...and of course, my daughters...hence the name. lol

Honestly it might be looking like I'm getting similar fuel mileage comparable to my old Outback. I was getting 16-19 all city on it, got 24-27 when we drove to CA.

That sounds about right...16-19...definitely, slightly better on the highway.

When wife and I went to Toronto, Canada last year...we took her 2017 Elantra...which did great on the 565 mile trek.

I've only done one long drive in my truck and that was just to Chincoteague, VA which was just over 100 miles.

Howdy - picked up a sweet gently used 2021 TRD Off Road on 03/31. Clocked in at 32,900 miles at 4 years young and the price was very right.

My first truck - EVER. Since my DL at 16 I have driven 1970 VW Beetle, 1994 VW Jetta, 1996 VW Jetta, 2009 Subaru Outback, and current daily driver was 2014 VW Passat 1.8T...clearly the Outback was an outlier! After getting razzed every time I needed to pickup a large item at the store....mooching from the neighbor or renting - my family demanded I make a change. :)

Truck has few mods already onboard - all headlamps, fog lamps, backup lamps are LED. K&N reusable engine and cabin air filters. Some nifty console and glove box storage upgrades, all badges blacked out with Plasti Dip, raised Black 3D Tacoma letters on tailgate, almost forgot the running boards (drop step Predator?) were also a mod from original owner...my first mod was to apply a Matte Black on Matte Black vinyl grill badge cover - Stealth mode, not big fan of the modern Toyota badge

As day job I work in High Tech computer chip industry...to escape the long office days, I enjoy to do basic to advanced maintenance on all the cars I have owned, hence joining this forum to learn from everyone else who has been there before.

Now I have this beast of a truck - already thinking to restock camping gear, and make some summer excursions to the mountains - especially the places serviced by dirt roads, that are bumpy, narrow, would never have driven on with my cute little Passat :)
