    2012 Tacoma PreRunner V6 SR5 Access Cab
    The usual - seat Risers, sound deadening, tailgate assist, BRIGHT LED bulbs, tailgate step, hood struts, etc. Nothing major.
    (New Member Just bought a 2012 V6 Access Cab)
    I took a bit of a different approach to the assist issue. It's one that can be easily undone/removed if the need arises and doesn't butcher things up terribly (just three holes that would take plastic plugs to easily fill/hide).

    I modified the cheap A-Premium kit off Amazon . I, as do others, eventually found there is simply not enough room for the strut and the cable to both operate properly. So I retreated from the space between the gate and body, up to the gate itself. I tried to make it without doing any welding, but in the end I had to braze the modified gate-end pivot to the stainless plate I used (bought off AliExpress). Very high torque required more leverage to resist the twisting.

    In total it cost less than $30 in parts (plus a hunk of scrap 1/4" steel plate I had laying around, which I used as a backing plate behind the taillight area). It doesn't look beautiful but it gets the job done for very little money, and as stated, it can be removed easily/quickly if needed.

    I'm guessing no one else will be interested in this not-so-glamourous installation, so I'm only posting a couple pictures, for folks' amusement/entertainment. If by some chance anyone is actually interested, I can elaborate.
