Anyone affected by the storm system passing through?

 

Power was out half the day yesterday. Other than that, just high winds and a couple inches of snow here.

 

so we moved stands around yesterday, I didnt fall, or have to drug outta the woods, BUT, we found an active scrape yesterday ????? whadda ya say Prof. @buckhuntin-tacoma?

 

Just a small tornado in my town. Nbd.

 

Scrapes aren’t used just for rutting purposes, some scrapes may be used year round by bucks and doe’s as a community signpost. They’ll chew on overhanging branches and rub their foreheads on branches leaving scent so other deer knows who’s in the area.

 

Glad you’re safe! The wife woke me up at midnight the other night and made me hunker down in the basement. Tree trucks clearing roads all yesterday up here in Cape.

 

Just a knocked down trail camera hopefully no trees down on the road to my property. Hopefully be down there next weekend to check it out and clean up.

My owl alarms were pretty active last night.
Couple groups of Doe and Skippers cruising around.

Mama-San doe are starting to shed Winter coats.

No,a friend in our lease scores deer at game shows.he will score it when we get a chance. he is thinking in 160’s.

 

I shoot an 870 super mag, but just bought some 3in TSS shells for this season (was told 3.5 TSSs would be overkill). $73 for 5 stinkin shells. Feels bad, but I missed a big Tom last season and would’ve paid more than that to have bagged him.

 

I can't see paying that much for 5 shells. People been killing turkeys for many years with cheap shells.
