I hit a deer going 50 in a chevy cruze and im pretty certain that a brush guard would have saved me as the only real damage was the bumper and headlights. The airbags deployed so the frame took the force but im rebuilding the front end now and i think it would have saved the bumper and headlights. I dont know that it still wouldnt have caused the airbags to deploy though.

I understand that every collision is different but i have to think that since i drive to work on 40mins of backroads and im typically in that 50 mph range, the damage in many cases would be prevented.

I could be utterly wrong. We shall see how well it helps. My plan is to get a skid plate and replace the lower plastic portion of the bumper with the metal options that have an integrated winch. My hopes is that between all of that, the damage would somehow be minimized

A brush guard impact will transfer the impact force directly to the frame, where as your factory bumper will deform to adsorb impact. At highway speeds your best protection is the factory running gear, not aftermarket anything. IMG_0414.jpg

    Lol. Ill live with it.

Im not fond of the fact that i have to remove a loover from the front because of where the factory mounts are either though.
