Not even sure what it is for, looks like cast iron without much iron.

 

Looks more like cast rust.

 

Boss ask if I could weld it back together. I laughed and said yeah but as soon as you move it it's going to break. With all the holes in it, there's nothing to stick it together.

 

Sounds like the boss thinks you're a wizard with magical skills.

With those alignment pins and hand-holds I'm guessing it's some sort of equipment counterweight?

 

Bingo, boss said it was a weight and they had it pin side down and ran over it with the forklift. I told him to tell them to put it in place and zip tie it
