I was envisioning a giant gash in the roof. .22, so it can't be that bad. :notsure:

Now I'm curious. Did the .22 penetrate metal or do you now have a roof nipple?

Four pages in three hours - I knew this was going to be fun.

So the bare wire, only from one direction. Doesn’t make sense. Maybe the bullet took a bit of this wire with it, as it passed through. Try trimming back the insulation on the ‘other’ side of the cable, to see if you can find the rest of the ‘bare wire’. My 2c.

No weapons misfire stories here, but we did have a recruit in boot camp try to trace a few rounds in on some ducks during training on the M60. The drill instructors did not find it amusing, and we never saw that guy again.

Still waiting for pics of the exit hole, Deputy Fife.

being 100% comfortable with them might be the problem here. A little respect and caution is advisable.

I totally get carrying with a loaded chamber, but a loaded rifle with the safety OFF in the backseat? Asking for trouble.

I see you are from Kentucky, you wouldn’t happen to hang out with a Youtuber named Scott? That would explain a great deal.
