They don't go to far, Even 00 buck shot doesn't go that far after going through the headliner and the sheet metal. I had this happen a couple of times on the night shift with Mechanics messing around inside Police cars while the Officers were in the break room waiting for the repairs to their vehicle to be completed. Lots of paperwork involved when that happens anytime a police weapon is fired.

@Log5and - shooting a coyote with a .22 from a vehicle seems like harassement of wildlife. Karma is a bit(h.

This is why I TW. I'm glad the OP has a great sense of humor and AR550 skin.

I have a very good friend that runs an indoor shooting range and gun store. He carries chamber empty after a couple years of people plugging each other on the range. He trains to chamber a round and is very good at it. Still costs him almost a second. He and I view it differently and that is ok. If I shoot my cock off...totally my fault.

If anything get a DA/SA weapon.

    DA no safety. Pretty good.

    IMG_7354.jpg

Half cocked, no safety. Still pretty damn safe.

    IMG_7355.jpg

half cocked with safety on. This goes off...it was your time. 6 lb 7 oz little baby Jesus is calling you.

    IMG_7356.jpg

    Cocked and locked. Let's party.

Lots of options here. If all else fails follow Hoots advice:

22 will go through both sides of a steel drum unless you hit the reinforcement rings, then it still mostly goes through, so yeah, I can’t imagine it not going through

Yes, it blew through the metal easily. It looked exactly how you would imagine. The metal was frayed out like a cartoon. This happened a while back but I’ve just got around to trying to fix it. The no cab lights/phone mic finally got to me.

Do you recall the specific ammo that was chambered? I’m curious.

I had a .40 cal shot into my Dodge 2500 driver door back in 2007. The bullet didn't go all the way through due to hitting some of the door framework. Felt rather lucky.
