I am considering trading in my 2015 TRD Sport Tacoma for a 2-15 Tscoma limited. I have several issues i am considering. First and formost my 2015 is pretty much bullet proof. It has zero mechanical issues and never has had any issues. I have been religous about maintenance and all maintenance has been done at my dealer.

The things that have always bothered me as thte turning radious. A 20`15 with a 6 foot bed needs about a football field to make a u-turn. I also have never like how shallow the bed is. My minor gripes are lack of an outside thermometer and no apple carplay.

The 2025's seem to solve all these problems. I just cannot get over the price. My first house was the same price as a new Limited (yes I'm kinda old).

    Anybody have any thoughts?

With some insights into your age and your resistance on just the purchase price of the new truck… I’d say keep your 2015.

turning radius can’t be solved, but you can upgrade the stereo for CarPlay.
Bed length can be extended by using a utility trailer the few times a year you may need it. I have fit 12’ boards and sheets of metal in my 2003 and 2015 short bed…

Vehicles in general are expensive. Last time I looked the average new price was 48k.

Gen4 is outstanding, and you would feel like you’ve died and gone to Tacoma heaven.

However….sorry to report that the turning radius still isn’t that great, and your minor gripes don’t even come close to justifying the cost of getting into a brand new one.

Best to pull old-reliable back into the garage, and put another coat of wax on her.

Turning radius on a four GEN is wider.

Jim has some Limiteds for 50K.. Still spendy! The gen4 is a helluva upgrade! It’s hard to justify a new automobile purchase so your on your own there

Don't what ever you do test drive one....
It will be all over after that ride. I know that's what I did and 10 miles into my test ride I looked over at the salesman and said " this is the dam Tacoma they should have built when I bought my 22.
Now I am just waiting on truck that I ordered to arrive.
Your 2015 will be traded in fast after a 20 mile test drive

Split the difference and get a 3rd gen. win/win. You get the best gen with car play and a thermometer for under $40k

Not much in your post suggesting why you really want to change. Turning radius doesn't get better with 4th gen, it's the opposite. Deeper bed is very minor. I switched because I'm looking to the next 10 years of use in my life with improved towing capacity especially, and a 2011 that is at the end of it's range of value to sell for a good price, even though it's exactly what you described. Bulletproof, reliable, and very cheap to maintain. If you're happy with the functionality of your current truck, it's running great and is cheap to maintain, there's no reason to switch. It will go another decade with regular maintenance and the oncoming issues any reliable vehicle would have around the 10-15 year age range. Drive your truck into the ground and brag about how many miles and years of reliability you've kept it running.

I went from a 2021 Limited about two weeks ago. Purchased a 2025 Limited; it rides and feels more solid. The interior is nicer, seats are more comfortable, still has some knobs and buttons too, and is faster. However the display to me seems huge. I had the sales man set up my phone and personal info before I left the lot but have spent maybe a 1/2 hour or so personalizing the display. It does have start/stop but there is a button to disable it. It needs to be pressed upon each start.
I say, if you have the $$$$$ go for it.

Your 2015 will sell super fast, so don’t bother trading it in

How may miles on your 2015? How much longer do you expect to be driving (you said you were old)? I traded in my 2013 pre-runner on a 2024 OR mainly because I wanted 4WD but also because I expect to be driving safely for another 10-15 years.

You'll be trading a vehicle that has stopped depreciating, perhaps even appreciating, for one that is 3x the price and will rapidly depreciate. I would have a hard time doing that.

2015... so 10 years old. You didn't say how many miles?

Here's the thing... everything you complained about is fairly minor. And as people have mentioned, the turning radius is worse. Nothing you said says you _need_ a new truck. Of course, the new trucks are shiny and oh so pretty. Nothing wrong with being a little jealous. And if you've got the $$$ to burn, nothing says you need a big reason to upgrade. We're all adults here (well most of us at least).

Some people lease their vehicles because they "need" a new one every two years. Always paying the dealer to do a long term rental and absorb all the depreciation with nothing to show for it. That's not me and from the sounds of it, it's not you either. Yours is paid off and you say it's reliable and basically gets the job done.... maybe it'll get the job done for a few more years?

But we're not getting any younger and if you got the cash to burn... At the end of the day, you gotta do you. How badly do you want that new car smell? Enough to spend $50K+? What are you really buying with that $$$$?

As far as getting old, the radar cruise control and line tracing make long distance driving less fatiguing, and stop and go traffic less likely to have your leg get cramped.
