My position is this: these people are your neighbors, directly or in the greater hood; I would rather let them be the asshole first and at least try to be a cohesive neighbor. It is better to be on speaking terms with the neighbors than not.

If they wanna lie, that tells you plenty - and for me, I would return the dog pile and put it smack in the center of their driveway out by the street or mailbox; mostly b/c I don't want to be accused of trespassing/vandalism later [b*tches be crazy these days] - but definitely where they see it.


I let my dog shit on random easements in the hood - happens once every few months and by the looks of it, there are way worse offenders than I.
IF someone complained, it would really depend on how they approach me. Either way I am gonna apologize b/c I know I am not supposed to do that and either way I would make sure it doesn't happen again. With respect to the jerk, I would abide just so I don't have to speak to them again and no more wave/hello when we pass; I would not go back and clean it up. If the person was nice, I would go scoop their whole easement just as an 'im sorry'.

Just because I can be an asshole, doesn't mean I am an asshole - but if someone wants to find out, we can do that 100%.

Story Time:

I was at the Murphy Gas by the Walmart, where all good things happen
I'm putting gas in my truck
This Lil Wayne lookin dude driving a black/chrome escalade pulls up, rolls down his window and hollers 'your man must love you'
I just smile and mind my bizness
Homeboy goes to leave, gets halfway up the drive and then stops/turns around . . . . . .
Pulls into the other side of the pumps I'm at . . . . .
Hops out . . . . .
Says something like, "no disrespect intended but you do have a man, right" - all the while staying 6+ ft away from me
I was just like 'kinda of'
He said something like 'i'd love to wake up next to you' and then got back in his truck and left


Creepy but Southern Creepy..
By leading with no disrespect [and staying a proper distance away] - he made it clear he knows some rules, like don't scare the white lady [lol]
And he stayed far enough away that the other patrons would have swarmed him in my defense had he gotten closer

[there was a dude with a nice Toyota - pre/1st gen - I had just been speaking to at another pump who was clearly watching the whole thing]

And I really don't want to be the dick in my neighborhood; 17 years and most people like me and/or respect me - better to be on that side of the equation than the other

 

that is what pissed me off about the mailbox/driveway poops!!
they were so soft i couldn't scoop em up and they were right where i walk
