It is obviously based on an older Land Rover Defender, but it has a BMW engine, and is built by a French company. I learned this from online research, and from talking to a sales rep at the Lehigh Valley Auto show yesterday…

I saw one of these about 2 weeks ago When I saw it I thought it was a Grenadier but it didn't look the same as what I see on line. It was definitely like this one in your photo which is a Grenadier.

Starts at $71k, BMW engine, Built by the French.
I'll take a hard pass on that one.

BMW makes good engines. They just can't make a good engine that will retain it's fluids for more than 50k miles.
And EVERYTHING is so damn expensive. Yeah, that's not for me.

Supposedly they detuned the engine for reliability. Used driveline components with worldwide availability. Etc. Claim to be going for ruggedness.

Cool concept, way too much money.

    Yeah, at $70k+
I'm no too sure my budget is going to let me find out how rugged it really is.

I'm not against letting someone else buy one, and letting me test out the "ruggedness"...... :mudding:

One night I heard glass exploding, looked out and saw a Silverado flipped, bunch of guys came running to get it back upright, so I assume the driver was intoxicated. Ironically another Silverado crashed out front too, something in the front suspension let go and he slid into the ditch dragging the control arm.

Anybody remember my friend’s 2017 Chevy Trax? Like 40K miles on it, and the water pump failed! $600!

I finally decided to buy a new HVAC module due to ongoing electrical issues with “used” (out of a totaled truck) units; I paid $720 dollars for the damn thing!

My mechanic rigged this up earlier this year to keep wires from burning up. The A/C suddenly lost power while we were sitting in traffic, and this is what I found when I popped the module out in the bank parking lot…

So, this plug was blackened years ago and my mechanic cleaned it up and put this special compound on it, in addition to replacing wiring. The HVAC module was no doubt part of the problem, but this certainly isn’t helping, and it gets replaced next week! The entire HVAC system has been rewired and a number of major electrical parts have been replaced, so I can’t see what else the problem would be!

My Oldsmobubble lost the pump at 6 yrs and about 50 K..though to be fair it had sat for 4 months close to the failure. Almost $800..pump in the back of the engine

Good question, not really sure as I've not had anything such with mine.

Replace both connectors. Loose connections =heat, that's definitely shows signs of heat. Max load also = heat but a good tight clean connection will minimize it.
