Friendly reminder to do bolt checks. I was going down the highway and a bolt that mounts my caliper fell out. You can probably guess what happened next

Yeah I wanted to change the order and saved them from the listing and got dog shit in return I guess. Really don’t know why you can’t rearrange pictures in a listing... I already have a low patience threshold for marketplace as it is haha

Passing the next step off to my machinist once all of the chromoly and aluminum shows up. But, I really think this is gonna work. And on the relatively cheap side too. (Half the cost of a tundra rack)

I will have a few sets of solid (aluminum) rack bushings available soon if anybody wants a set for themselves. Just let me know!

Haven't messed with hydraulic steering before, so this may not even be a thing, but how do you adjust the proportioning between the two (if that's the right word) so that they aren't constantly fighting each other? Kind of like if you had different gear ratios in the front and rear diffs... They're both going in the same direction, but one wants to get there faster.

Think he said the stock rack will not be hydrauliclly powered....it will just be a follower similar to the JD fab slide rack. But will maintain the mechanical connection so you will be able to steer if the hydraulic rack fails....albeit it will be steeering with no power assist.

Right, so with a hard link to the stock rack that takes X amount of turns to go from lock to lock, haw do you get the hydraulic ram to match that and not go faster or slower

The thing you’ve gotta understand is fluid only flows as fast as you turn the wheel. Depending on how the factory servo handles things it’s either going to be effortless steering if it flows enough. Or tighter if it doesn’t.

All this is doing is taking power from the rack and putting it to a ram. Similarly to how my assist ram feeds from my box. Only my truck the box is also powered.

From all of the port measurements I have done and comparing factory bore size etc. I feel we are going to be in really solid shape utilizing the factory rack servo. Especially with the monster CBR pump we are running.

Absolute worst case scenario, we ditch any fluid going to the factory rack and utilize an inline servo on the intermediate shaft.
