You could repurpose that nice inlet for meth injection…

True, but the downside is the 7th injector setup takes too much space for what I have planned for the intake tract.

So the bully dog tuner, which comes with the magnuson SC, seems to be.. unpopular around here.

That's fine, I am simply using it as a base to get up and running with the SC before getting a real tune done to it. No issue there.

However, when running the update, I have the following options that may/kind of apply to my truck:

    2010-2017 (I guess no on here, I have a 1GFRE)
    2009 MT
    2005-2008 (probably)
There are more but they are all for manual trans.

I have a 2009 auto. So ahhhh which one. Definitely not the MT one, but there isn't a 2009 specific. I could go "GT Magnuson All" as well, nice and super vague there.

That's silly (and crappy) that they don't even correctly line up with what years the Tacoma came with the 1GR-FE.
I would guess 2012-2015 is what the "2010-2017" is.
So I'd go with the 2005-2008 since you don't have the SAIS that the 2012-2015 does.

    Yup that's what I figured.

Once you get into the unit, when choosing vehicle I can select 2009 with automatic. Which is exactly what I want to see, of course.

Once it is done though (as in gone through the full update the SD card, plug back in etc), it lists the vehicle type as 2009 Tundra/Sequoia. Even after I choose the 09 Tacoma auto. Freaking Yikes, now I see why the bullydog is such a "popular" device. I'm sure its more of a label/display bug but jeez. It continues to cycle back to the 505 page asking for me to update things. Ill figure it out later.

Gonna punt this one out by doing my cam gear swap first.

I haven't heard details on how terrible the interface is, just that it tends to run the engine lean and dangerous.

I always fumbled past this little tool and it finally clicked.. substantially less effort to pull.

Also note that the m90 needle bearings are too short vs the mp90 housing bearings and the correct ones are specified as the "cup" type.

I don’t but if you’re looking at replacing then look at page 1. I went with the Mercedes option years ago and haven’t had any issues.

Believe it or not my OEM pump was actually starting to leak when I replaced it and that was only that I had used it for what, maybe 2 years at most. Ever since I went with the Mercedes one I haven't had a single problem with it, so take away from that what you will. I still have my stock one and plug sitting in my toolbox but it's more as a just in case of emergency type of deal.

Keeping an ear out for all the usual issues so I can watch my own rig for them, appreciate that.

I have my build out all complete except the main pulley. Had to order a part from Amazon to get that bolt broken loose. The air impact did nothing... once I have that one I can finish it up quick and get to some test driving!

At work we got lots of issues getting devices blocked at customs lately. Especially on higher value items.

Pretty sure it never shipped. And my main issue was more the lack of communication.

Looks like the best place to grab it from truthfully. I wouldn't look much harder and just deal with the shipping bro.

Well, thought I'd give myself a challenge this weekend and snapped the clips on both of my VVTi solenoid connectors :annoyed:. Thought about just slapping JB Weld on it and calling it good, but I guess I'll be visiting the parts department at my local Toyota dealer tomorrow.
