@cwisema do not use one of these! I almost lost a finger on one of these fucking things...
use the weight of the truck to take the tension off. Easy and WAY safer!

mine was $1000 plus shipping to Calgary, but I had to replace entire lower mount due to uniball bearing falling apart and bolt damaging the lower shock. I stopped buying uniball equipped parts after that, too much hassle and maintenance.

@cwisema if you bring shocks to me I can swap the coils, have old school China spring compressor that we used on many different shocks. The key is to lube the threads with grease.

    Check build thread!
Well, it's going to @tacoma16 / @Norilsk and they can either use it as is or convert it to screw style (which is probably wise)

Sorry Norilsk, not trying to put a monkey wrench in you plans just a warning.
I know there is a lot more experience on hear that i will ever have. but let me just say this. Pay a shop and get you springs swapped over. I almost lost my life to a Chinese spring compressor guys. It ended up in the garbage i did not even use any steel from it for other things.
hear is what i got and i cant believe they still sell it
when i told them what happened they said i had had it for too long and there is no warantee. It was the first time i was using it to swap over coils.

I think i talked about this before but I rally mean it if my head was another inch closer to the coil.... anyway what ever you guys do please be careful

Thanks everyone, for the suggestions and advice. I may try to replace the shocks and ball joints this weekend.

Thanks for the offer @Norilsk . I think I'll try the method of leaving them in the truck and using the truck's weight to decompress them first. If that doesn't go so well, I might take you up on your offer.

Yeah the compressor is rated for 1000 lb according to the Amz listing. Stock 3rd gen springs are 717 lb/in. If you're compressing one to fit on a Bilstein 5100 on the 5th circlip setting, for example, you can easily exceed 1000 lb

Melissa decided to trade on a Rav4 and had an appointment set up pretty fast.
Sad to see it local, but pretty sure it’ll be there a long time at that price.
