All though my post was more of a rhetorical question/statement than anything, that was a great reply/post...

I average about 14 MPG per tank of gas, most of the time I am only getting single digit numbers, I drive about 14-15 miles round trip to the Dr once a month (18-20 MPG then) and get the RPM's up to kinda blow the cobwebs out so to speak, since retiring... but most of the time are short trips... I also only drive with the ECT Power on until I finally get around to doing the OTT tune, that helps to keep the rpms up a little also...

My 35+ year automotive technician brain will not let me go over 5,000 miles on an oil change, my daughters 17 Corolla uses 0w20 also and it is changed every 5,000 miles, and she drives a lot, even changed it after putting 5K in about 35 days on it one time last year... lol

But yes, I will be rotating and balancing as well as checking the alignment every 5,000 miles, but fluids will all be time based, not mileage based mainly...

It's just this whole retirement thing and not driving much anymore is killing me on maintenance for all the vehicles in my fleet... lol

Again, thank you for the post, very well written...

I typically put about 2.5 to 3K miles on my Taco per. So I’ve resigned myself to just change oil/filter every Fall and if that isn’t good enough then F’k it. Amsoil 0W-20.

Oh I get it, but with this being a direct injection etc, I am taking the best care I can, I also only run Shell (top tier) in it, not running cheap gas...:anonymous:

It was already a little high in the front from the puck I put in to clear my tires. And it’s just a little more exaggerated now. But it’ll get fixed this weekend
    Thanks man!

Your two points are one and the same. It is the blow-by sulfur (from combustion) combining with the blow-by water (from combustion) which creates sulfuric acid. A quality oil includes a Base to neutralize the created acid in its additive package. If the Base is still in solution sufficiently, then 10k miles is perfectly fine.
Absolutely run the engine to operating temperature every time and for a proper duration. Water will evaporate and not be a consideration. (like you said)

(Blackstone always informs me of my Base levels.)

I have a smartcap I’m about to put on and hoping not to need a suspension upgrade since the back is already a bit higher than front when stock.

That looks really good with the color matching the rest of the black trim!

Thanks! That's what I was going for. The original one was looking kind of rough anyway.

AC vs DC, you'll wind up having more cap than the double cab. However every Taco is slightly different in my experience. You'll just have to wait and see.

Oh yeah that will bring the whole thing together! I have the Meso total tails and I love the way it relocated the turn signal.

I'm on a waiting list for those I believe. They're currently out of stock.

Has anyone ever tinted the newer TRD Offroad grill's emblem? I imagine it would mess with the sensor...

    FullSizeRender_VSCO.jpg

I love that look of that grill but not the massive oval.

It's fine. Several posts about people having done it with no issues. It's on my to-do list as well

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
It's mentioned somewhere on this site that you can, as long as you're not using a tint that's metallic.

What did you use as a fender liner there? Work well? Any other pics of it all buttoned up?
