I'm in Oconomowoc right now. I might wind up in Oak Creek later in the week, but it's shaping up to be a shitty week at this point.

Plus, I have no idea how to tune a stubby antenna. The CB antenna I had could be lengthened or shortened for tuning. I don't think my stubby has any kind of adjustment. :notsure:

Yes, once you upgrade the rears to disc, you will need more fluid. However, that fluid isn't coming from the reservoir. It's coming from the lines and calipers once you already bleed the system properly. So your total volume will increase. However, because fluid doesn't compress your master cylinder is still only going to push so much at the time.

Also; do not think the internal SWR will work to "trim" the antenna, you have to use an external meter.

I also remember from the chorded game controllers, not to wrap them up. more so to prevent damaging the wires.

As with any coil....the more wraps, the more resistance.

I 1st left the antenna cable in the pkg type bundle with a twist tie, running alongside the gmrs and refrigerator power chord

I moved it away from the power chords and made a 5" loop out of the remaining cable.

Tundra MC is for people with non-OffRoad model trucks (which have a different e-booster and can’t switch). It helps push mo better when doing big brakes to accomplish a less spongy feeling in the brake pedal. Unless you already upgraded the booster/master cylinder I don’t recall why you would do a reservoir upgrade. Don’t take my word for it go read the related threads, I have an offroad and gave up reading more on the topic.

Badlands jack is pretty nice and helps after you do a lift and tires to be able to actually jack up the truck any more. Ease of moving it around on a rough surface is nice. Fast pump is nice. Bleed the fluid if you get one.

Re antennas I’m just a novice but everything already said here is why I picked up the SWR meter and the NanoVNA for spectrum sweep analysis. Once I find where I put them and figure how to use them I can gladly share to the group for tuning.

Bit busy making other bad decisions at the moment though in the form of wiring a new 240V branch for EV charging. And then adding a charger. And also something that plugs into that charger. And ultimately not burning down my garage because these things get a little spicy.

Yes I know. Does your pedal feel bad/go all the way to the floor? I don’t remember - did you already upgrade the booster or master cylinder? Guessing no if you’re talking about the reservoir. Maybe my reading is bad today but (if memory is right) I don’t think there is a point to upgrading the reservoir unless it’s going on top of a Tundra master.

My "ghost" stubby antenna says it's pre-tuned for GMRS and should need no tuning. I actually read something somewhere I can't find at the moment that warned against tuning because you could screw it up and make it difficult to fix... :notsure:

I was just thinking we would see if we're able to hear each other at reasonable volumes and maybe use your meter to see if bundling of the cable has any noticeable effect on the signal strength. Understand if you have a rough week coming up. No worries. I should have probably looked into this weeks or months ago, not on the eve of a big trip.

Or, an imaginary straight line segment joining the leading edge and trailing edge of an aerofoil cross section parallel to the direction of the airflow, as the case may be :D

Ah, the memories…I’m getting a little verklempt!

With regards to tuning GMRS antennas, is that even a thing? I never did anything to mine.

Seems like a worthwhile endeavor. I'll let you know if things end up going better than expected.

That's what I was thinking. Dean has a good point about experimenting with bundling the excess cable in different ways.

The pedal feel is good-now. Took a long time to get good after the conversion. The rear brakes have just been a disappointment. I guess I need to consider Tundra MC.
