I did it just because we were doing another truck too. I was also on 35s and stock gearing for what thats worth

 

thats fair. a buddy of mine was going to do it on his fjc at my place when i had my grey tacoma and had planned to just go ahead and do it but i sold it before that happened lol

 

I ended up having to shave a tiny bit off of one side but it was one and done fortunately.

 

I never did it with any of my previous Tacomas either. This one did have play when I moved the axle at the base and since I was replacing the axle it was a no-brainer.

I loathe pulling the axles. Idk why its so difficult.

It's the damn c-clip. The trick is to do a 90° turn every time you give it a big whack.

Although @Sasquatch3153 's axles came out after like not even 10 seconds. Sus

 

Last time i had to do it i pulled the front skid and never put it back

 

Not sure what your skid has to do with CV axles lol.


We wheel too much to not have front skids lol

 

More room for the pry bar to get under it directly

 

If anyone I know used to wheel hard it's that guy above me lol

Used to. Its retired now. Nothing but pavement.

 

going through that metal pipe is wild!

 

Thats at badlands. Shortly after this i got stuck in a deep water hole. Had water up to my knees in the cab, ha. 2 year old truck at that point.
