I'll be there this weekend. Friday.

I'll probably get a sandwich at one, then walk across the street and get another at the second, because....Well....Yeah....

I can eat, but I figure 2 smalls will do me for the day.

Cheers - should be a good weekend, heading to a music festival down in the city.

and on your way in or out of Philly north on 95 - Curlys comfort food--1140 Bristol Oxford Valley Rd, Levittown, PA 19057

 

I'll keep them in mind.

On the way back I'm going to Trenton (supplier visit) then Allentown (bakery visit) on the way so it won't be directly up 95 but I might be going that way.

 

Outside of Trenton on Route 1 is Meatheadz ( dont let the name fool you, one of the best cheesesteaks in the area... I say top 3) at 2495 Brunswick Pike #39, Lawrence Township, NJ 08648
or off 295 North in Hainesport, NJ--- Lillo's @ 2503 Marne Hwy, Hainesport, NJ 08036 ( if you are taking NJ 295 N from Philly

 

youll forget all about those fugazi shops in Roxborough , once you have one of these

 

Well, if you're going to be at Chubbys this Friday, maybe I'll see you there. I'll see if I can roust my wife to get a cheesesteak for dinner. Daughter is a vegetarian (in a family of carnivores.. who'da thunk?), so just the wife and I. Don't hold me to it, maybe around 6:30ish.

 

...I had both. Not in the same day, though.

We didn't make it to any of those. We didn't have the time to be all over the place unfortunately. Also no desire to be driving around all sorts of philly, to be honest. Just getting in and out was enough.

We ended up going to Joe's Steaks + Soda Shop first (Is that fishtown?) - they have a vegan cheesesteak for my wife. And I got a normal one. Then Chubby's instead of Dalessandros. Then, of course, we started talking to uber drivers/wife's friend in the area/we rewatched the Philly episode of Somebody Feed Phil and EVERYONE was like "Oh, go to Dalessandros" .... so Sunday night after the show, we went out and I restocked.

Fun fact. Joe's is owned by my cousin now. They make a good steak, and do excellent milkshakes. I would have rec'd them but didnt think you were going to Fishtown.... It used to be called Chink's when it was founded, apparently because the owner and founder had squinty eyes back in the 40's/ 50's. Imagine that???

 

Hah! Small world! Yeah it was good. Vegan was good too. Wife got a vegan shake and that was really good too actually. Wish I'd have known I'd have maybe gotten one. I got a small sub though because I knew we were leaving there and going straight to Chubby's

 

For absolutely the best cheesteak in Philly, you have to go to Horne's truck. It is in the alley behind Drexel's main building, between Market and Chestnut. Silver truck all of the way at the end of the alley, which dead ends into Drexel's quad. Tell Kevin the guy who orders extra fried onions sent you. He gets there around 11, and leaves around 4, depending on business, and he's there weekdays. His nephew also helps him, kid is a gentle giant.
Seriously, better than Chubbys, WAY better than D'Alessandro's, and pretty much anywhere else I've ever gotten a cheesesteak.

I took over for member who had other obligations last year. lol

 

I know a bunch of guys who run facebook page called "Valley Yotas", I know they were planning on events this year, maybe I could cross post there after this event is created.
