My hats off to you Mike I know with experience you figure out how and with what tools. But some of the places you have to get to remove these parts and loosen and tighten bolts When I did the hoses and belt and idler pulleys recently on the 4Runner I know there was two trips to town for tools maybe three. I just walked away a few times could have used a skin graft or two to fix all the skint spots. And their may or may not have been profanity

Good morning everybody. It was a great camping weekend but the pollen was so thick you old see it in the air, my sinuses are telling me about it today. It was a babysitting day yesterday so I’m finishing truck clean up today. Have a great Tuesday!

 

Toyota has become the GM, ferd and Dudge of the 1980s in regards to how they treat customers and the flat out thievery in the service depth.

I applaud you, Mike, for being one of the few mechanics that tried to do right by your customers. If I could find a small shop that was managed/staffed by guys of your caliber, I'd fork over the few $$ that I can squeeze out of the budget to tackle the jobs that I have no desire to do, but am forced to do out of necessity.

I'm waiting for Solidworks to recover from the 3rd crash this morning. This company doesn't use PDM/vault, so there are literally hundreds of model files scattered across the network. Fun times..

I use the dealer for warranty work and that’s about it. They really are a good shop, but my small independent place charges time and materials. $60 per hour for one technician (like a timing belt) and $120 for 2 (like an engine swap). He’s retiring soon. I’m bummed!

 

Kinda have some thing similar, it’s foldable and smaller, uses a bag . Might “run “ with it for awhile

Won't be going back then.

No power steering at slow speeds, so it seems to point to that sensor.

Pump replacement is to solve the circulation issue, at 200,000 miles it may be time anyway. And the sensor comes with the pump.

If this doesn't fix the issue it will be the steering rack. It's only money...

 

Somehow my first thought was of GG Allin

 

I wonder how many get that reference.
