I didn't either, but ended up with it everywhere but where I want it as I get older, on my head.

I have that version of Frogger, the 3D Frog Frenzy ripoff version was a bit better IMHO. FrontPage is a fun tool to make site for the OldNet and now with the wayback API working we can use old computers on ProtoWeb like it is still Web 1.0 times. I publish some stuff on there.

I've had ProtoWeb bookmarked for a year and just haven't gotten around to looking into it but it sounds fun.

The markup generated by Frontpage was so atrociously bad though...

It's getting pretty good now and the inode gateway is built out nicely. Both proxies have access to the same huge selection of sites and ftp servers but you can choose between simulated T1 speeds or simulated 56k dialup speeds. The sites are broken out into properly restored archived sites as seen in 199x, direct access wayback machine sites (no wayback interface present so its like browsing the real site but sometimes due to the nature of wayback saves vs a true restored site there are missing links and images), and one of my favorite sections that is newly made sites in the classic Web 1.0 style that are fully compatible with old machines. They even restored the old Windows Update, it works on Windows 98 through XP now.

Yeah that will just be a constant thing you have to remind him of from now on lol.
River has started putting his hand down his diaper on his crotch when he’s walking around or sitting, gives me flashbacks to all the times my mom would yell “GET YOUR HANDS OUTAA YOUR PANTS” at me when I was a kid

Hilariously terrible, but like everything back then relied on tables for formatting anyway. Efficiency came from code bases like jQuery and whatnot... back then we had CSS and HTML and not a good HTML either... XHTML 1.0 or HTML 3.5 transitional... so inefficiency was the name of the game.

    That's Frontpage 2002 (released in 2001), jQuery wasn't even a thing until 2006.

I'm aware, that's why I was saying it is inefficient along with you. The internet was a lazy creation built around easily forgotten rules in the early days because HTML never let anything truly be deprecated and lots of shit was built to suit Internet Explorer's nearly broken parser.

Man, kind of glad he freaked himself out with that one

Last year he was on his little toilet and while he was sitting, you suddenly hear him let out a half yell/scream

Stephanie was with him so I ran over asking what happened

She said apparently he reached down in there (while sitting there), ended up touching his pee since he had just gone, and it freaked him out :bananadead:

    Wow thanks for that.
I think I know what I'm doing this weekend! 56k simulated will be nostalgic. I have to think of some sites I'd want to visit too, start making a list.

It's a lot of fun, probably goes without saying but I'd keep Windows XP off the internet still, it needs more time to age into obscurity. It is still way too vulnerable to attack due to its widespread continued use in developing nations. Windows 2000 and below have been good fun on it though and the Windows 9x variants are pretty safe to put on the internet for this use because there's almost no attacks directed at their vulnerabilities anymore.

Yeah it's pretty scary how quickly it is to find old machines connected to the net :anonymous:
