Having a senior moment this morning (no offense to our more 'experienced' members)
but which gasket goes in the URD 65mm to 70mm adapter? I lost it when I installed my blower last summer and just used RTV at the time to just get by (being impatient). Finally getting around to fixing it.

Trip report - the charger is in. Very nice and clean, good challenging but doable install. 3 degree offset cam gears also in. I've been nervous to do that job and sat on those gears for a long time. Definitely not as bad as I thought it would be.

I'm surprised at the bully dog tune being as mediocre as it is. I knew fully well going in, definitely getting a tune - I have an OTT guy in my town, he might also be an HP tuner guy as well - I don't know. But man they don't even change the throttle input lag much if at all. And it is, of course, lean as hell.

Also surprised Magnuson just lets you "figure it out" with the mismatched hose ports for the vacuum lines. Kind of thought the kit would be more put together in that respect. It's still nice though! Suprisingly loud when active, I figured for the air noise, but the charger vanes meshing is definitely loud. For now I still have the stock airbox with the included air filter, I'll be swapping that out for an AFE in the near future. I tried the URD CAI and the fitment up front was rough. Eats into the stock grill by a good inch and a half once the SC intercooler is in. Too bad, it's a great idea.

If you're getting tuned by us (OTT), we can provide you with the same tune on various software platforms. Talk to your local retailer, and they'll get you squared away.

No idea what various software platforms means, but I am excited to find out! My local really wanted me to get some breakin period in with the charger but ... man, the current setup with the BD tune makes me just want to do it now. I get the sentiment but I gotta get that pedal lag deleted with extreme prejudice. It hurts my soul.

There are more options that just HP Tuners as the software to create/adjust/load tunes into your truck.

At the end of the day, to you and your truck it doesn’t matter, but for the tuner, it doesn’t restrict them to have or know how to use only one specific piece of software.

Ah I got what you mean now. Appreciate the explanation.

I don't yet have a boost gauge on it, got excited with the charger and I really wanted to start out with it straight out of the box stock before modifying, but I bet I end up going to a 2.8 pulley. Going to hit it one step at a time and see where I get, and that tune will be a nice big step forward I'm sure.

I also use the URD TB adapter but different size and recall that I needed to cut my own out of gasket material. Trace and trim..

Thanks @JasonLee for the assist there!

But yes, we like folks to put a few miles on the supercharger with the supplied calibration first, before tuning. This allows you to shake down the system and ensure there are no mechanical issues, installation issues or hardware problems with the build before we tune it. It also gives you the opportunity to address those before going to an aftermarket calibration.

Always best to keep variables to a minimum. If you've got a few miles under your belt on the new system without any issues. We're ready to help get you dialed in!

Here is V1. The blower is bone stock, 3.0 pulley etc. I did reroute the one airline into the vacuum sensor port up top. I don't have a gauge just yet, going to finalize that order today for a boost gauge. Not sure the AFR gauge is necessary. But the build may evolve as I go, the goal is a good 6-7lbs of boosted fun.

Update to my fiasco. The dealership only had 1 connector on the shelf so I have to wait till Tuesday once they get it from the warehouse. All good though. The RB VVTi solenoids look awesome imo. Is it weird that it makes me think my truck has gold fillings now? :anonymous:

    Hey if it works!

A while back I had a mouse chew up my knock sensor wiring, the little bastard. En route of getting to said wiring, which is at the bottom of the V - I was struggling to get the front water block loose, so I grabbed one of my deadblow hammers and short story long - I have a brand new oil valve on the driver side bank. That connecter snapped off so clean it was like it didn't exist. They are really fragile on that end!

I moved my air hose over to the gauge port. I don't have a boost gauge yet so it's just there solo. Ordering one shortly so I can get a bead on if things are nice and airtight, or if I need to chase some more vacuum leaks around.

Hey question on the old boost gauge.

    I am looking at:

    https://speedhut.com/gauge-applicat...16-boost-vac-gauge-30inhg-0-20-psi-w-warning/

I don't see much documentation on it. I love the look - but I would really like the ability to throw it in peak mode for testing, have it capture and hold that reading. Does this unit have this feature? I see the button on it, so I am guessing yes but I don't see a manual. And for anyone that got this kit - any pieces/accessories that ought to be replaced or is it all good?

That’s the one I am running. I recall it haha so evening that will replay peak. You cal run it as is. I got 4 years on the 02 sensor before it died but that’s would be the only part. I’d say run it since they include and replace later.

@12TRDTacoma, look what I found on a random eBay search. You bet I did not hesitate to buy this unicorn.

If all shows up legit. I will have some DT Shorties for sale x2 since they never got the CARB EO approved.

Not sure how accurate that picture is, but that is the silver carb sticker in the bag. Hopefully they did not put one in there if they didn't get the approval.

def a chance to roll the dice on. looking at his other listings he sells a lot of older parts. they look very similar to the DT shorties I have sitting in a box and are in the right orientation.

part number matches the supported carb eo for the Tacoma! The fact they are brand new too was a score for this CA truck.

Pretty sure I have the same boost gauge and the matching AFR.
It has the peak and low, same with the afr.
The o2 sensor on it lasted about 1.5-2yrs and less than 20k miles for sure.
I’ve been too lazy to replace it with a better NGK sensor

Same boat as you. I dont have the exact same Speedhut gauges but the supplied O2 sensor took a dump with less than 10k miles of usage. And I'm also onboard the lazy boat when it comes to replacing it.
