...and businesses that can't or won't upgrade their legacy systems because they still work/they don't want to pay for a new license/nobody knows how.

I like nice things. That’s why I don’t like this Tacoma.

I also did not enjoy my 3rd gen taco while I had it, imo the side profile looks good, and the marketing/brand really sold it

Have you tried the OTT Overland Tailor Tune? I know many 3rd gen owners who started loving their truck after that tune. There is a fix for the transmission hunting issue also.

I guess I need to download mine. Its actually cool I thought.

Though it is a surprise when you get a message from a newly discovered cousin looking for a person who once rode a red Harley around Missouri. Yikes, I know who it was.
Dude must have knocked up a bunch of women in his day.

It was a cool service, I really enjoyed seeing my results and that of my family/relatives. But their business model just wasn't sustainable. They had a huge boom and profit initially but most people were one-time customers, so after a few years everyone who wanted to participate and buy a kit already had.

I downloaded all of my genetic results/info and am deleting my profile, no telling who's going to have access to all that information once they go under completely or sell the company.

The way they are/were constantly updating people's profiles based on new genetic submissions, they should have made the whole thing some kind of inexpensive subscription service rather than a one time fee for the kit. But hindsight I guess

Was pretty cool to see the family tree laid out too

Ended up finding a few aunts and stuff that my dad confirmed were indeed, related to us so they're on my FB now

Need to take the kid to Puerto Rico on vacation one of these days

Been thinking about trying the Ancestry one, I'm mostly interested in geography/ancestral regions . Read about people doing it with pseudonyms and matching options turned off. It's too bad there aren't more protections, like a version of HIPAA for direct to consumer DNA services.

A play on song from the Oliver musical. It seems like the the 1980s ran out of creative energy and took to bringing back commercial songs based on B-way classics.
I remember the Tomorrow song from Annie was heavily used in the mid 1980s.

There was a time early in IT where companies had a chorale to sing the company songs, along with a baseball team, and classic car club.

I saw someone comment on a thread about the whole 23&Me thing where people were freaking out about extreme stuff like using people's DNA to create human clones or sell it for genetic mutation science or frame someone for criminal acts, etc etc

one guy was like 'I DGAF I was in the military, the world's least trustworthy agency already has my DNA and genetic info so fuck it' lol

I mean... he has a point. Also cloning random folks seems like a pretty bad idea anyway... I wouldn't wish my genes upon anyone

True, if they're gonna go that far then we should focus on cloning David Bowie or something. He'd probably be pissed about it though

Did anybody ever use WordPerfect to generate HTML code? It was once of the cleanest HTML generators that I've used. It also had a reveal codes function that displayed document markup and allowed editing via document codes.
I think the native format was based on SGML. I remember when XML came out they were way ahead of the game. Manuals for airplanes and submarines were written in SGML way back.

I never did, but my dad was a WordPerfect user and I remember him talking about Reveal Codes and complaining that MS Word didn't have it.
