I want to replace the overhead bulbs in my 2008 Tacoma. I managed to remove the clear lens but the bulbs are at the bottom of a conical reflector where I can barely touch them. There must be some trick for removal. Thanks.

I'm sure that's worth a try but does it pull straight out or rotate first and which way does it rotate???

I believe they are the common wedge type bulbs: 168 or 194. They should pull straight out but are nearly impossible to grip in those recessed reflectors. I think some folks have mentioned removing the housing from the ceiling to access the bulb holder/socket from the back. (twist to remove)

I already had removed the panel so I tried pushing them from the rear and they came out. However, my guess is that Toyota assumed nobody would be taking them out unless they were burned out and then it doesn't matter if they break. Thanks all.
