The sooner the better for me, that way I can get what ever is needed and fixed before June 12th, which looks to head west day.

I’ve started ordering stuff to install cause lights and aux fuse box. I got the brightest most flashy lights I could find so @TacoTuesday603 can follow me.

    OK, ELECTRICAL QUESTION

I know I can ground my switch inside the cab, how ever, I am struggling with not using a ground wire. I get stuck in the house wiring mode and feel I need a ground/Negative wire. So, if I run wire for 3 switches into the cab, can I use 1 ground wire that is wired to a grounding bus bar under the hood? THis way, I would be running 4 wires into the cab.

Yep thats fine. In reality the ground on a switch is literally just to have a light on the switch.

Just like houses you can switch power without any ground or neutral tomfoolery

Ya, house switch just interrupts the circuit. Don't know why, guessing its a lack of experience, but automotive wiring makes me nervous.

So if I want the switch to light up, ill need to run power as well? Didn't think about that. So 1 wire from the relay to the switch, then power from somewhere, and a ground. Can I run one power wire from under the hood?

If this works, I can run a 5 wire bunch from my aux box, which would be 1 wire from each of the 3 relays, 1 ground and 1 power. I am only currently going to set up 1 switch, but want to prep for 3 total.

Or does the relay provide the power I need. And as I think about this more, to get the switch to dim, I need to tap into a current switch that dims? I hate not knowing what to hell I'm doing.

I think your thinking about relays a little backwards or at least the opposite of the way that makes sense to me.

I cant figure out how to explain it all that well. Hopefully someone else can

What are you trying to do? I can draw up a quick and dirty schematic.

    found this

    https://youtu.be/uUSxo-CCLR8

This cleared up relays better, low power switch to handle higher power.

I am going to run wire for 3 switches into the cab from my aux fuse box
    [IMG]

I am trying to plan how many wires to run into the cab, which will be 1 for each relay (3 total), and 1 for a ground (Which I don't need to, but feel it's a good idea.) I was wondering if the relay power would be able to also light the switch, but now believe that is not going to work. So now I need to figure out where that power to light the switch is coming from. I know I could just splice into something in the cab, but I am trying to make any electrical mods I do, be completely separate from the factory stuff. Basically for my piece of mind, I want to know if something electrical goes haywire, I didn't cause it with my mods.

Currently I am only adding chase lights, but once everything is in place I will be able to easily add what I might want.
