I tell ya what, don’t count out the 6.8. I test drive both and the 6.8 was a smoother ride. There’s not much of a power difference between the 2, both will tow my camper with ease, I found a better deal on this one with the 6.8 and don’t think I’ll have any regrets. It’s an XLT with the FX4 package, smaller display (I think it’s still 8-9” touch screen) and the center console rather than the middle jump seat.

Also, if you go down the 3/4 ton rabbit hole, I didn’t realize Ford started playing the same stupid payload game GM started a couple years back. GM increased the GVWR of their 2500 to 11k lbs, Ford now also has a GVWR package at 10.5k lbs. All my other 250’s, including this new one, have a GVWR of 10k lbs which allows you to have a typical, non-commercial vehicle inspection for $35/yr. Once you go over 10k lbs, it’s basically inspected like a commercial vehicle, not all garages offer this and you pay shop rate for the inspection. Not the end of the world, just something to watch out for. The 250’s I test drove had some higher GVWR packages mixed in.

I was specifically targeting dealerships that still had significant 2024 stock. I ended up at $51 + TTR. I made a really good deal back in 2020 when I bought the diesel though so that equity kept the trade to new differential to a reasonable number.

I recall you got a nice grab on the diesel one. What made the decision, just time or something else

Mileage, market and I’ve said right along, I don’t need a diesel. I think I traded it at a good time. Cheaper fuel, cheaper oil changes and there were a few dealerships with pretty good discounts on leftover 2024 inventory that was appealing. I also wasn’t overly keen on having a diesel out of warranty. The warranty expired last year so that was in the back of my head but trucks were too ‘spensive last year to make a move.
Here it is all detailed up for delivery:

    Congrats!

When does the brodozering begin? What are the cool kids running these days, 26x15 on 25 series tires?

The NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament brackets are set. Of the 16 teams, 8 are from New England.
    Go UMASS !!!!

(I also like Maine and UCONN hockey, but my heart belongs to UMASS.)

OH me and @CTSpruceMica are in on this. He's a BC guy :puke:

I went to UMaine for undergrad, Penn State for grad, so Friday night is going to be a win win for me! I'm hoping for UMaine, but I won't be sad either way.

UMaine UConn game was great. UConn played a GREAT game, all 3 periods were a great watch. A lot of clean play, no whistles, that was a great game. The UMaine/Northeastern game was similar too!

He pointed this out to me - there's a chance (and a strong one, at that) that the final 4 is all hockey east.

Don't threaten me with a good time.

I was looking at that too. Quinnipiac is no slouch though. They're going to be fun to watch against UConn.

:spy: it's only 4.5 hours to get to Allentown for me!

Never! This one will eventually get some Platinum take offs, 275/65r20, factory height.

There’s only like 2 parking garages I fit in in Boston the way it is! I’m actually pretty proud of myself, all of my Super Duty’s have remained stock height. They all had some mods done, but fairly subtle.

I don’t know how you drive that thing in the city at all. I had a Ram as a rental and I lasted a day in the burbs before I swapped it out for something smaller. I was terrified of knocking a mirror off in normal traffic.

When I have my light bar mounted I tend not to take my truck to where garages are. 99% of the time I’d be fine but it’s not worth the chance for me.

My old boss had an F-150 and kept telling me one day I’d come to my senses and buy a full size. I would tell him I’d buy a car before I went full size and it never sunk in. I don’t dislike full size trucks but I don’t have a need for one, so unless it was something vintage it would be lost on me. If I was towing a camper, I’d absolutely get a full size but otherwise it’s a waste of capability.
