This video was done awhile ago but it displays the full functionality of our new Tacoma/FJ Cruiser cross-member design along with the engineered load-cell array repositioning brackets.

Basically the point of this was to get away from the universal slider and super basic mounts typically used and actually design a solution that keeps the OEM rails and continues to use the load-cell array, SRS proxy plug-in, and everything else needed to keep everything OEM and working properly so that you can upgrade your clapped-out seat to an orthopedic scheel-mann usa seat.

@ToleranceSTACK Thank you for this product. Anyone who has considered aftermarket seats knows (or should know) the pain of the sensors to work around. A lot of people just ignore the passenger occupancy system and go without airbags for a passenger.
I have been considering Corbeau Trailcat seats but they wont sell single seats and they only come in vinyl (back sweats).

I know a lot of work went into something that won't sell in large volumes. Tacoma owners can be an interesting bunch when it comes to modifications. They are completely fine spending $15,000 on armor, wheels, tires, and long travel suspension. They will only recreationally "need" a couple times a year. People they drive by see these mods so it is an easier cost to accept They will baulk at a $2,500 seat they will use EVERY SINGLE TIME they drive their truck. I have a stock truck that i am considering a drivers seat for. I am tired of back issues, nerve pains in my leg and constant shifting in the seat.

It would appear, in post # 91, OP confirmed seat jackers could be used, if necessary.

yeah, i just saw that and edited my post. It looks like the only thing needed would be a ignition on 12v source for the heated seat function since mine did not come with seat heaters.

Correct. We have had two customers that decided NOT to run an IGN+ source and run straight to battery, disregarding the instructions for whatever reason they had. Both realized the error in their ways when they left the seat heaters on overnight, or over the weekend, and found the battery dead. Doh!

Yeah we likely drone on and on about this issue but its so important, but no one gives enough thought into the ramifications of bypassing the occupancy systems.

We attempted to reach out to them. The response was cold and they just want to put their hands over their ears and say loudly, "LAH LAH LAH, we can't hear you". So we continue to work with the vendor that cares about getting it right, and that's been scheel-mann.

Its been a very long development. Turns out our target audience assumptions were 100% wrong. But that's ok, we pivoted and we are SLOOOOOWLY able to reach new audiences. Dealing with the social media juggernaut is not the same as it was 10, 5, or even a year ago.

THAT is our new mandate. Help folks with back issues. Thats where the scheel-mann seat shines over everything else on the market.

Zero Point Seat Calibration Using Techstream®

Techstream refers to Toyota's factory diagnostic and reprogramming tool, allowing technicians to access vehicle data, troubleshoot issues, and reprogram ECUs, and is available in both full and "Lite" versions. This quick write-up assumes either you, your installer, or technician has access to Techstream.

When you are removing the OEM, computer calibrated passenger seat, with an upgraded aftermarket seat, you must get the seat's weight to the same as you are taking off. With the Tolerance Stack mounting system the solution is built-in. With addition of washers under a tensioned spring you can calibrate by adding washers to adjust the pressure of the spring.
    Installation instructions for techstream.png

If its determined that you need to use Techstream to accomplish the zero-point seat calibration, simply follow along with the written instructions found here: https://www.tolerance-stack.com/technical or follow along with this video:

We had the absolute honor of doing a Tolerance Stack and scheel-mann install for @resman.93 (on IG) in his absolutely glorious TruckHouse.co 2022 Tacoma build. Promise there will be many posts focusing on this Tacoma's seat upgrade adventure. More to come and gonna start a new thread focusing on just that.

@ToleranceSTACK Is your site accurate stating the Tacoma scheel-mann driver seat mounting system is in stock?

Absolutely. The site always shows current availability. We don't publish qty details because we have other projects we are working on that could affect inventory and our system isn't all that technologically advanced so its "in stock" as [yes/no]. Also, the same goes for the scheel-mann seats listed on our site. We mimic scheel-mann's inventory listing so if it shows available on our site, then its available to dropship from Portland.

Oh and we have both Klima and non-Klima mounting systems ready to go.

It would be a crime to pass that up. We can start getting the order together. Were there any accessories (storage/corner mount) you were looking to add or just the mounting kit? And what year Tacoma so we can supply the correct airbag proxy?

Wiring and connectors for a non-power but heated 3rd Gen Tacoma passenger seat

We are specifically looking at the passenger side right now because there is more into the wiring bundles than the driver side.

Under the factory heated, but non-powered, passenger seat you have the “always yellow” SRS/airbag connector. ANYTIME you are even considering removing this plug you MUST disconnect the battery ground and wait for 90 seconds per the Toyota factory FSM. This means even if you are removing the seat just to give the carpet a good cleaning, the battery gets disconnected.

To the right is the Load-Cell Array/Seatbelt connector. This is the connector that connects all four load-cells only found on the passenger side with the seatbelt connection info.

Next over is the occupancy sensor computer which basically takes strain calculations from the load-cell array and sends that info to the truck computer thru the seatbelt/occupancy sensor harness.

To the right of that is the Seat Heater Computer. Only OEM supplied factory heated seats will have this little black box.

The next up is the heated seat connector.

To the far left is the Mid-Harness/seatbelt connector. This is simply a connection point for mating two harnesses.

Special thanks to David and Truckhouse to making an incredible work of art.

    Major Difference, Little Presence
When designing the mating interface between your Toyota truck/SUV and the scheel-mann Vario F seats, Tolerance Stack is content playing the unobtrusive go-between.

When deciding on a seat upgrade, it's usually a defining moment right?
    • My back hurts, time for better seats?
    • I can't do long trips anymore because of my back.
    • Back surgery, no riding in the truck for me anymore.
    • These seats are ugly smell funny, and are ripped.
    • These OEM seats are horrible.
    • I'm about to sell this truck the seats are so bad.

Now that's settled, its time to research seats right? Keep it simple because there is only ONE compamy even making an all-in solution for your Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, or 4Runner. That is where Tolerance Stack comes in and with the task of staying out of sight, playing nice with Toyota and scheel-mann, and just getting it right the first time.

Final decision is material and color, heated or heated and cooled.

It seems that videos have been helping a bunch of our customers with successful installs while minimizing the stress of doing the seat upgrade to scheel-mann that some installations can bring. Right now we are concentrating on the Tacoma seat mounting install video series. We re laughing at ourselves that it takes only a few hours to capture the video but days if not weeks to edit all of it

Love it when customers send us installation pics and are happy with their install and overall experience. This customer out of Washington made the driver side upgrade using the Tolerance Stack kit to mount his scheel-mann Vario into his 2023 Tacoma TRD. He was able to locate his own manual seat from a junkyard which meant he didn't have to tear apart his own driver seat. Just an additional Driver’s Seat Position Sensor Conversion Jumper Harness was all that was needed in addition to our kit.

On this 2022 powered and factory heated driver seat out of a TruckHouse.co build, we go into the details in removing both the seat rails and the harness dissection in order to repurpose those parts for the install. of the Tolerance Stack mounting system.
