That's how i feel it happened to me.

 

perfect timing just as I just gave my CC info to some random podcaster hoping he doesn't fleece me (subscribed for the extra content since I already binged the entire library).

A few of my favorite ones have moved behind paywalls recently which sucks, but I get it. Gotta make that money, can't be whoring yourself out for free especially when you get more popular.

 

Currently happening on Marketplace: Guy parting out a truck says "make an offer", I make an offer on the engine, he just replies "No sorry".

 

I got the lowball offer this morning

 

Did he come back with a counter offer?
I had some stuff up for free "must take all" and they still are trying to negotiate what they want to take.

He did not. His response was, literally and in its entirety, "No sorry".

I don't consider it a lowball offer when it's listed as "make an offer" without an asking price in the first place.

 

Mine had a price, and the words make an offer were nowhere listed in the ad

I had a thought... I think I mentioned the other day that I was looking at something on Marketplace and the seller just asked me to call them.

It was a set of wheels and tires I was looking at. I asked what the tread depth was and got a phone number in response. The seller had a bunch of previous (sold) listings that had pictures with a Snap-On tread depth gauge, so I thought it was a little sus that they didn't include it in this listing.

I also noticed that the seller, despite having dozens of sold listings, didn't have any seller rating.

I wonder if the phone number was a tactic to prevent people from getting the option to rate the seller?

I recall a few times the prompt coming up to rate someone even though no transaction, or agreement has taken place

Meta being stupid and just taking a stab at guessing there was an agreement when reading your messages to and fro

 

I thought it was just based on number of messages sent? Never paid super close attention though, I just know it shows up "eventually".

 

That could be it as well

I just always assume messages aren't secure at all
