    I have a friend that absolutely loves black licorice. Apparently, the US made is lackluster… he gets it from Finland or something… it’s absolutely disgusting. Imagine dried sardines, squid ink, and licorice with a dash of medicinal taste… you’re welcome.

    which reminds me...


    You don't see as many rabbits now as when I was a kid... by a lot.
    I think it's the predators.

    People used to shoot hawks on sight (especially farmers with free range chickens).
    Hardly anyone traps foxes anymore... the market for fox fur has disappeared.
    If you're sharp-eyed and stealthy, you can spot mink along most any small watercourse here in the East.
    And then there's coyotes.

    Rabbits are there, but they don't emerge from the underbrush except at twilight and moonlight.

    Coyotes killed them all when I was in Arizona. I came
    Home one morning to a coyote eating a rabbit in my front yard. Wouldn’t be a crazy sight to see if I didn’t live miles deep into the urbanized Scottsdale area where the closest public or park land was a few miles away.
