Well, if I want bitcoin I buy bitcoin...or $FBTC. It's ok if it's part of a diversified strategy to maintain income from cash reserves. They would need to be actively buying and selling bitcoin to lock in profits, or going LOOOONG on dips (Like I do with $FBTC). Profitability forces shorts to close....

Ok, the more I read into this now that I've had some time, it's not the worst strategy in the world the way they're going about it. There doesn't have to be dilution at the end of the notes. GME can option a cash payout and resolve the debt (at 0% interest) That's 5 years in the future though, so we'll see.

I DO like the idea of a store of BTC if it doesn't cost me money directly. If they don't touch their 4.5b, they continue earning interest, keeping the brick and mortar side of the business profitible, while they keep their eyes open for more lucrative strategies.

I don't want to jinx it, but GME may have just positioned itself to become a little mini investment firm. And that, I am all for.

Titillating. With GME there's always interesting theories whenever the company makes a move. This one would be fun.

Did I mention that here, or did you come up with that one on your own? No snark, just curious. I went heavy into SCHD about a month ago for no other reason than I decided I should own a dividend ETF. I can't remember if I mentioned it here or not.

 

Neighbor got me into it 5 years ago, been using it to diversify my tech heavy portfolio, which has in turn got me into dividend investing.

I'm right now heavy in VTI, moving new investments into FSKAX (Same thing, just a fidelity MF instead of an ETF). Haven't been spending much time thinking about SCHD. Might look at if there's a Fidelity MF that's the same goals, or just start looking at SCHD instead.
