It was in April. I had a spring bear tag. I had this one corner and was going to wrap around to the south side of the mountain. The snow patch was probably a hundred yards long so I put it in 4hi and went for it. The trac control kicked in and I lost my momentum. It completely screwed me. I was on the high side but it was enough off camber I slid to the downhill side. I saw the 1’ of fresh dirt in the edge and thought I would be fine once I had a couple tires in it but it was pure slop and I started sinking. I was way back in there. I walked about 7 miles back out to where a guy was camping. He drove us out to blacktop once we had service to meet the tow truck. That event is what escalated the truck into what it is today.

It hard to tell how steep it was but if you zoom in you can see the Right Rear is a couple inches off the ground. It was buried on the drivers side and up against a rock. When I was walking out I thought for sure I would hear it roll into the creek.

I came in south off Bartlette hit Middle Fork and took a spur rd back north. No idea which road # it was. I was just bombing around looking for bear sign for a place to start the next day. I had gone over to Winchester but the snow was way to deep as far as the eye could see. I wasn’t looking for an adventure just fresh green grass with the tops eaten off.

State hasn’t done a spring bear hunt in the last few years. It was a special draw.

Yeah it’s unfortunate to be honest…they’ll outlaw all predator hunting soon is what I hear.

No i am in Spokane but i spend 3 weekends a month up there in the spring summer and fall and a lot more than that in the spring during turkey season. I take 6 weeks off to hunt and do a little guiding for an buddy of mine if he can't cover all his clients.

Just felt like saying this flooding sucks. Based on how today was, I'm thinking the driveway will be washed about 300ft down the road in the morning. Creek overflowed the bank and washed out the driveway 6" and up to 2' deep in spots. Neighbors culvert for the creek is just too small to handle a 20yr flood. Already trenched around the house to get the water coming down the hill flowing away from the house, but I will still have to go in and do some water mitigation this summer (thinking French drains and lots of gravel).
But, I guess it is a good thing that I already transpoted my tractor/FEL and backhoe here from storage (not sure I can even get to storage to get my flatbed at the moment). Tomorrow, I'll have to take the tractor down and get the driveway out of the road...

Same here in Puyallup…hoping that’s the worse of it. Unfortunately my garage is full with my 1985 4Runner rebuild so the taco and 23 Runner have to stay put in the driveway and risk it. I guess that’s what the insurance is for…fingers crossed

fingers crossed here as well. I don’t want to deal with insurance so has to take some “ghetto” measures here with cardboard and generic cover. I’ll sacrifice the cap..rather keep the truck panels and paint protected as much as I can.

I'm still glad I took the time to cover things. Hell, I was surprised I could do it, but I actually put the wife's car INSIDE THE GARAGE!! Never thought I'd see a car in there again.

Glad no hail came! I was dreading having to deal with insurance claims. A little disappointed with the intensity of the storm otherwise though. I’d brought the generator out and got a good fire going in prep…oh well it was a good opportunity get everything exercised.
