i cleaned my MAF with cleaner and cleaned the throttle body, + new air filter, and my truck doesnt choke off the line anymore, and i got 330 mile tank on 18.3 gallongs hand calculated...i used to calculate 15-16mph, now 18+

like my old 4runner, i replaced MAF sensor one time, this time i just sprayed it down

follow a tutorial if you dont know what youre doing, it wasnt very difficult

    true story

the only one i have left as far as preventative or repair is a possible front left wheel bearing (slight slight hum above 60 while turning to the right) and id like a dealership drain and fill on my trans.

did 3 gear oils, motor oil, air filter, maf, throttle body, ext diff breather, extended ac, fluid film etc...kind of on to modding now

Save the money and drain and fill yourself if you did the gear oils yourself! Only a tiny bit harder to add the fluid and check the level. It's really not bad.

you know ive read that thread multiple times or portions of it. i dont like having to trick into the auto at temp setting and i feel like it is a bit out of my comfort zone just because of how critical the component is. but it does suck now at local dealer the drain and fill 3 qt is like $400, sux

thanks for confidence though, maybe someday

I just used a scan tool to check the trans temp, or if you have an ultragauge MX or scangauge you can use those or buy one to use and then have for the price the dealer would charge to do it haha

Also, aside from only a tiny bit more work.....there's no guarantee the dealer is going to check it at the right temperature either. If you do it yourself, by scanner or by trickery, at least you know it's right.

But I'm an un-trusting bastard so.....ya know :) . Pretty much, if I wasn't under the truck with them, I would assume they cut some kind of corner.
