Good morning y'all, PSA watch what you're dog is chewing. Malli has a cracked carnassial tooth the 4th tooth back from the k9. If they can save it, it means a root canal if it cracked all the way through they will pull it . She has an appointment on the 10th of April for the procedure.
Root canal recovery is a few days, the extraction is 2 weeks with soft food and no exercise.

 

Piper got a new necklace and ring tag. It’s got a QR code on it if she gets lost once scanned it tells us someone has her and give them a third party number to call that links us together.

This is an old picture from back in 2003 of Duke. Black lab and blue tick hound mix. My late uncle found him in Mississippi on the side of the road, had an untenable situation at home with his mother in law and her cat, so my parents took him in when he was pretty young, around 1 year old maybe? We had hime for roughly 12ish years (can’t really remember how old he was) but he had kidney issues and passed away in the mid 2000’s maybe 2005.

Had dogs growing up my whole life- Will have to dig up pictures of our goldie Sandy who my parents had before I was born and I grew up with as well. I have no pictures of Matty (beagle) that my sister took after my brother and SIL got her but were unprepared for the level of care needed for a puppy- she was a riot.

I’d love to get a dog now but in my apartment with no yard, it’s just not a situation I prefer for a dog. I’m planning on finally buying a house in the next couple years so once I do that, complete with a full yard, I’ll start seriously considering getting another dog. I do miss them.

Been kinda a bummer as of late.. our old girl lilly it seems it's getting close to her time.. trying our best to keep her happy and fed but it'd difficult.

 

Sorry man, it’s tough

 

ya its gonna be the hardest on my gf. its been her dog for 10 years now.
we woke up some time last week i wanna say and she just looked like she aged over night by 10 years... since then she moves a lot slower, doesnt really eat, mainly lays in the couch in that spot, gets nausea a lot, doesnt wanna play as much as she use to... we still get at least one spurt of her trying to run and chase a squirrel but after that she goes and lays down and thats about it.. we know she has bad arthritis where its bone on bone in her hips and her pain meds do help but now she just seems to drag that leg and not even move it...


we went to the vet yesterday for a checkup with my dog (the heeler sitting in such an odd fashion lol) we told them the issues and things we have been seeing and atm they are concerned of a liver or kidney failure and now we just wait until her appointment.

 

Thoughts and Prayers , just keep her comfortable , and remember all dogs go to heaven.

The hardest thing is loosing a child. This is the next hardest.

 

My little girl slowed down as she got older, but did it slowly over time. Then her last couple of days she went downhill fast. Thats when I knew it was time. I never expected her to make it older than 13, but she was creeping up on 16 when I finally lost her. It’s hard to see them go downhill like that.

 

ya its never a fun time id hope she can make it another year or so but unsure with how its going atm.
