...^^^... FWIW ... I am north of Atlanta and found the best prices in Mississippi. Biloxi Toyota IIRC ... this was 9 months ago too.

I have the "SET Cartel" here and the prices are ... wow high with add on's from SET and their SET dealers in SouthEast

    TAAA DAAAAA.
A lot more labor than normal but since these are mine, well worth it.
    A bit of history preserved.
Hope the others come out as good..

How old are they, is there a manufacture date on the ball somewhere?

    No dates on Candlepin balls.
It’s a hard process but production color runs that don’t exist in recent times help.
I’m guessing at least 30 years.
I have two sets that are confirmed 50 years since I bought them new.. LOL

    Looks brand new!

I sent your before and after pic to my nephew. He instantly identified them as old Comets and saw the value in restoring an older set. He says the new ones are prone to scratches and chipping.

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday :hattip:

...^^^... The weird this is ... most people in the southern section want you to call it Saigon ... and ... people in the north want you to call it Ho Chi Minh City or HCMC ... I call it both.

The interesting thing is there is still an unofficial financial, social and psychological war going on here today.

The north, Hanoi area is full of loyal government employees and the tone there is more solemn with bland office buildings.

The south, Saigon, is the real financial engine of the country with much happier people and some super modern buildings and I saw more Black M/Benz Maybachs limos here in Saigon than in US big cities.

Lots of rich Vietnamese here in Saigon and lots of controlling government bureaucrats in Hanoi. My wife can immediately tell if some is from the south or the north ... lol

We see that when we have to deal with the Vietnamese government officials and the US Consulate here in Saigon.

Last trip here, I bought 2 base ball caps that had the north's propaganda symbol on them and my wife went ballistic :annoyed: and said I could never wear them in the US out in public.

I have lived in Thailand and Vietnam with her and understand the cultures pretty well :)

We will permanently be moving back to our house in the US soon.

PS ... I posted some of our meals here in the "Foodies Section".

You posted pictures before of a few you refurbished for others. These ones you say you are keeping for yourself. Wanted to ask do you collect them at all?

    You’re welcome.

Candlepin bowling used to be a large part of the culture up here but there are still pockets around that take it seriously.

Did they have Candlepins for Cash over your way back in the day? My nephew made his TV bowling debut when he was 3-4 at the end of one of his dad’s shows.

New oddball task of the day.

Figure out mow many square feet of grass we have on campus so they can more accurately order fertilizer.

    Any guesses? :)

Get a satellite pic of the campus, bring it to the super secret AI department there, have them remove everything that’s not lawn and then compute the remaining square feet.
