Same age here. I looked at new Tacomas for the last three years and couldn’t justify it. When I saw the TH in bronze oxide with bronze wheels I was bowled over. Love the snorkel, which is functional and prefer that it does not have a non-functioning hood scoop. I didn’t want the ARB Sport Rack and was able to sell it for a pretty good price. I bought a Kuat Ibex bed rack because, while I don’t drive to commute anymore, I do pull a camper, off-road and want to start overlanding. The TH is specifically built for all that and to boot…it’s the best looking truck on the road! (; And one more thing, the interior and ride of this truck are extremely good. Good luck with your decision.

Also depends on how you feel about the chopped front bumper, snorkel, and gaudy wheel package on the TH. The off-road will do all you need it to do at significant savings. Unless you really want/need a lift, I'd say OR with the premium package negotiated at a discount is a pretty solid play.

I probably would have gone with a TH or PRO, but I wasn’t sold on the interior choices. At 65-70k, you’d better be completely sold.

100% for me…and I have never been that confident about a vehicle in all my life.

I had told my local Toyota salesman that I wanted a TRD Pro and to let me know when they got one. At one point he told me that they had received a TRD OR Hybrid but I told him that it would cost way more than the price difference to get to the TRD Pro level would be way more. After all that who knows what it would take to get the Iso Dynamic seats. So I am glad that I waited for the TRD Pro that I ended up with. No regrets. As far as bed cover I went with the Retrax Pro XR. Big upgrade from my previous vinyl top. Already have a bike rack on it.

Only thing I can say about your dilemma is I went to the lot because they told me the pro I was looking for had arrived. I opened the doors saw the lack of usable rear seat did not feel I needed the gimmick seat. The delivery truck pulled in and had this on it - couple hours later I drove off with it. I only have about 400 miles on it so far but I’m about IMG_7728.jpg IMG_7773.jpg to drive it fully across the country. I definitely made the right choice and as you can see, I have several different tacos. Alas, This one has my attention.

I have no regrets spending the $ i did for my 2024 Trailhunter. It's my third Toyota Tacoma I have owned, and by far the nicest to drive.

All lines are the same length. The plastic trim near the top arrow is 1 7/8". There is several inches inside the frame between the struts for your knees or you can splay them to either side of the seat (or a combination). If front seat passenger gives up an inch and a half, the rear seat room is essentially the same. If losing 1.5" of rear seat room makes it unusable, then non Pro's are the way to go.

The seats in the Tacomas are just WAY too big .

I guess I could have also mentioned that the pro had fire engine, red interior, and that did not catch my eye. Additionally, I really enjoy having all the buttons on my seat functional and I feel the color inside my TrailHunter is the best I’ve ever seen. The Pro was Definitely a nice truck, but as the previous writer said never have I had a Tacoma that rides as nice as the trail hunter. I am over the moon currently.IMG_6014.pngIMG_6002.png IMG_6014.png IMG_6002.png

My rear end keeps telling me that the OR’s bilsteins transmit more small-bump frequency than my ‘23 OR, which felt super-soft paired w leafs. Coincidentally, I thought the Ranger’s FX4 setup had a similar issue.

A little refinement from Toyota would go a long way, but from what I hear about the TH’s ride quality, would love to try that out.

The red interior is what attracted me to the Pro! And if the Iso Seats were optional I would have wanted them. Back seat space is not a big concern for me.
I think both the Pro and TH interior look much nicer than the Premium and along with the wider flares/wheels makes the whole package worth the extra money.

Go with the off road. Get the manual transmission and be happy. Trailhunter is overpriced and auto only

Those are the factory/standard "reinforced rocker protectors" and they're bolted to the body not the frame. Wouldn't use them as rock sliders but I suppose they would be a sacrificial shield for minor bumps and scrapes.

I had in mind to buy the off road next year. My thinking is I can make my own mods that are superior for less money, but maybe I'm wrong.
