Sounds like a PITA.....get the door cup protectors. They are cheap, easy to install and say good bye to those scracthes in the future.

Look for 3M protective FILM. Do a search and you should be able to find your solution.

I don't have the scratches on my door handle because I don't have long fingernails haha...but I do have scratches by my tailgate latch since whenever I'm opening and closing the tailgate my hands are dirty because I'm working.

Yes I would care. Luckily my pre-owned didn't have any and my girlfriend (the most common passenger) doesn't have crazy long nails and realizes it doesn't require a gorilla grip of the handle to open the door.

You are far nicer than I. I have made drunk people walk before after they refuse to respect the rules of my vehicle. As long as I know I've gotten them far enough from their vehicle that they won't be going back to get it

It's my understanding that you want nearly no wax on the surface when applying 3M film. You'll want to buff or polish the area to truly get rid of the scratches.

I thought we were referring to 3M Film? If so, absolutely not. the 3M film is just like a decal you would stick on one of your windows. But instead it comes in sheets and is 100% clear. It's not a liquid product.

They annoy me too, but what boggles my mind is how do they actually happen?! My hands/keys never touch the paint there...

If I cared about every scratch, I'd never drive. My latest ding is from the wind taking control over plexiglass I was putting in the bed and nailed my back fender. I find the silver covers dings well.
