Requesting immediate help to fix this. I just flashed a valley runner tune and once complete it immediately started throwing codes. I drove it around the block and it won’t shift out of first. I tried to reflash it and it can’t even read the vin now.IMG_5345.jpg IMG_5346.jpg

If the motor is turning on, I don't think its bricked. When I bricked mine, it would just keep cranking. I could be wrong..

VFTuner said it’s not technically bricked if it turns on. The big issue is i can’t even get the software to prepare the ECU now so i can’t fix this.

I had a 20 minute phone call with Jeff from VR discussing the issue and he is sending me a new ECU and i will be sending him mine to diagnose the problem. Lots of possibilities but the current guess is a voltage drop. Il post updates as we learn more.

I was trying to flash a Yotawerx tune just now. the tune file may possibly be vin locked. the flash failed and now i get the same error as the OP has above. Currently just disconnected batt gonna wait 10 min and see what happens. I have techstream avail if anyone can point me in the right direction to get my truck back up and running i can flash my other tune back.

you have to read the ECU first to get the vin to match. (surely you arnt installing another vin's tune) then flash

I honestly do not understand why why people do these tunes. Why? To get more pep in it? It is a Tacoma. When I want to race I drive my wife's RAV4 :)

It's aftermarket for a reason....there's always a risk but glad there was good customer service. Definitely know the risks and read the fine damn print when you get this type of work done.

If you sign away liability for a bad tune or flash, it could be your problem.
