Agreed! Both trucks serve completely different purpose.

To be honest I prefer the trd off road premium hybrid because I want to build and mod this truck the way I want and not what Toyota thinks we should get. My off road is the same truck engine wise as both TH and Pro but with a blank canvas for me to build it my way. I don’t want fake scoops or air snorkels to make noises.

    The snorkle isnt ackually
he’s not wrong….the TH has all if not better and more of the capabilities of the Pro with a much better looking interior….and a fully functional backseat that someone bigger than my 3 year old can fit somewhat comfortably.

Id do without or possibly delete the vacuum cleaner (snorkel) and put on a different intake though. Odds are zero my truck would ever see water deep enough that I need scuba gear or a snorkel myself to drive it.[/QUOTE]
I agree and believe it or not the snorkel is not designed to keep out water. The chief engineer @ Toyota very quickly addressed that when people started assuming it was. It is actually a snorkel for dust control, which to me doesn’t make any sense because the trail hunter was never meant for dusty conditions, it was meant for in the backwoods, going on trails and in mud stuff where there isn’t a lot of dust stirred up, whereas in the pro was specifically designed for going over land fast which stirs up a lot of dust. The pro is the model in my opinion that should’ve had a snorkel put on it. But with that said, I actually pulled my plug in my air cleaner and took a lot of of the high-pitched sound out of my snorkel. It probably lowered it about 25 to 30% but it does make it slightly less noisy.

I’m now 100% convinced that Car Care Nut has an evil twin. Hates the Pro, but loves a good fake snorkel. Guy practically had a heart attack over the upside down sticker on the Pro’s diff…He’s watchable when reviewing repair histories as a mechanic, but off the rails on new car reviews.

For his next video he should debate himself over the plastic valve covers that he constantly mentions not liking, then always admits having never had any issues with.

Lol, he does not have an evil twin. And it is not a “fake snorkel”. Stop thinking the snorkel is for water. It has been made very clear from the chief engineer of Toyota,. It was never intended for water nor has it ever been intended for water. It is purely for dust control. Yes I agree. It should be on the pro and not on the trail hunter because of their definitions of why they each were built, but it isn’t fake.

Given that most ORs/Pros/THs will never see serious off roading in dusty conditions, the prominent and loud high-mount air intake is essentially non-functional just like the Pro hood scoop. Saying one styling element is better than another is like preferring redheads to blondes.

Mine has been off road quite a bit, but I do agree that they put the snorkel on the wrong vehicle, but you sound like a pro owner that wish he had bought a TH!……….:D:boink:

How does the TH ride on-road compared, individually, to the Pro and the OR?

    Thanks.

Not sure how many people did long enough back to back test drives of each to give a good answer. If you do test drive, make sure the tire pressure is at spec, not 44psi like mine were or you will not get a good first impression.

My uneducated guess is that the Pro No. 2 setting is similar to the TH and OR as far as firmness. No. 1 would give you a slightly softer ride and No. 3 slightly firmer.

The hood scoop looks much better than that damn snorkel. I'll say that much.

Honestly, between the three of them, the OR easily road the best on the road for sure, it seemed to be one with the road. The TH rides stiffer for the obvious reasons of a heavier suspension designed for Overlanders loading equipment in it. The pro was even stiffer yet Because was designed for fast rebound application. That’s my two cents after putting some seat time in all three.

(On a sidenote, I own the TH and wish I had stayed with the OR in regards to the suspension difference.)

I totally agree. You know when some Asian country tries to do a knock off of something like a Jeep wrangler or something but they completely miss and you can tell it is cheap. That is what the TH looks like with that snorkel. At least they could have made it to not look like a alliexpress 9.98 special.

Not a fan of the TH snorkel but way better than the 2019 Pro abomination, but at least that was optional.

I'm surprised at how few iForce MAX models are on the lot at the local dealer. They still seem to be scarce. I didn't anticipate that it would go on this long.

Not sure where you are,but the local dealer to me had a dozen or so Tacoma's and easily half were hybrids. This was about 3 to 4 weeks ago. Have not had to go up there since. Not sure if they get distributed via allotment or if dealers can order what they want.
