It came in the 3rd Gen 4Runner. It had a Lincoln Park CD in it. I'll message you tomorrow about sending it out.

It's just a fun car, it's hard to describe what's right about it but I came up with a way. It's like after the new gen cars came out, E60/E9x...etc they took everything and made it bigger and with more technology. There was a big switch in BMW electronics and design language after 2006. But the E82/85 cars are almost a throwback from the start. The 128/135 are nearly the same dimensions outside as an E46 coupe and the interior with minor styling changes to meet the new style is super similar to the E46 as well. I get in my E46 and it feels almost the same as my 135 did, right down to the sport seats and radio stack (less so if you get a 1 series with iDrive though). It's maybe the last simple BMW, no weird active suspension, could get the fairly simple N52 engine if you wanted, doesn't come with collision monitors or tons of airbags, hell mine didn't even have PDC or comfort access. I had the perfect M Sport model or nearly depending on your opinions of DCT transmissions. But it was like a baby M3, lighter than an E90, but same suspension design, had a turbo 3.0 and DCT just like the next gen M3 and man could you just rip it around. I miss that car, maybe one day I'll swap that drivetrain into an E46 or something.

Some people know what parts to grab too for cars they don't even own, just for some good money.

I only know enough that it happens a lot, just not sure what vehicle parts are desirable.

For instance, a specific year Integra with OBD1. Some of their ECM's fetch some cash for those that mod their cars so there's always a market for them.

Speaking of, had a cool afternoon the junkyard today. I got a blue-label CV and a 4.30 front diff to replace the one I messed up a few weeks ago (so I don't need that 4.10 anymore @Wulf , but I'll still take it for practice parts if you want it gone). Pulling a front diff is the worst. Almost gave up, but finally got it out with like 10 minutes left.

While I was working, a woman asked to borrow a wrench to pull a starter off a Ranger. She walked up with an adjustable wrench and said "do you have a socket this size?". I didn't have a socket, but I did a 15mm wrench that worked. I was happy to be able to help.

There were two other women working to get the windshield (I think) out of a Suburban in the next row. They were entertaining. One was up on the roof with an OMT cutting for a bit. Then the driver door was jammed, so she was inside kicking it while the other held the handle. That didn't work so they smashed the window with a hammer. I've never seen someone attack a car the way they did. Can't blame them with how late in the day it was. I don't think they got their parts before the registers closed, unfortunately.

Yeah, I talked to a dude once who'd go look at the new cars every day. He had a list of people to call to see if they wanted anything. That's why I'll never find a good motor there--they're gone before the vehicle even gets listed on the website. They also usually Tacoma/4Runner rear diffs, and for some reason the interior fuse box/integration relay.

For the interior fuse box? I thought that was all body control functionality--door alarms and dome lights and whatnot. Why do the swappers need that?

That was such a good description, I copy and pasted it into my car folder haha. The design language really started getting muddy but you're so right about these being almost throwback designs. The center stack is one of my favorite parts, no screens, well laid out, driver focused. Personally I like DCTs and that's what I'd want in one over a steptronic. I can't imagine how fun that thing must've been to rip around in. And I hardly see them on the road, which is a shame. Come to think of it I don't see many coupes at all, which is my favorite small body style.
Thanks for that description and insight, that was nice to read. And that sound!

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
I need to go back to Pick and Pull to get some JIS nuts, bolts, and OEM spring hose clamps from Toyotas. Nissan also works and I have used them in several cases.
Parts store metric bolts often run in 11mm and 13mm sizes with the thread pitches that we need. This drives me crazy when I work on something that should use a 10, 12, or 14 mm nut.
