    Anyone ride Moab a lot?

Trying to plan a trip with a group of guys. Varied skill level, but I would say more beginner to intermediate. No idea what trails we're riding, but I'm trying to decide if I would take my Spur or Patrol. Pretty sure the Spur could handle everything, I would just have to go a little slower.

Are Moab trails more rocky and less flowy I guess is the main question.

    not enough.
moab trails are rocky but not loose rock. it's slickrock so it'll just beat you up as you go up and down them. and the sun zaps your energy.
spur coudl handle everything but i think you'll be more comfy on the patrol simply because of the softer travel.

I think everything in Moab is more fun on a short-travel bike, except TWE.

Mag 7, Ahab, Raptor Route, Brands, Etc I would all choose my Following over the Firebird.

I've ridden my spur on almost everything in Moab. It does pretty well. Like others said the main trail I'd want more travel, just because of higher speed and jumps is TWE. I'd also prefer more travel on Jacksons and Blue dot/Portal.

Trying to blast my way up a hill on a single speed while a group of filthy casuals on ebikes going downhill expecting me to move out of the way and break my pace.

in my opinion E bike should yield in every direction, especially if you’re on an E bike antidote, single speed

Rode this same area same time last year on a Chasing Epic trip. Was truly epic indeed with 2 sessions every day (am and pm). Gooseberry mesa was more difficult than Little mesa which was a nice break. Zen is actually fairly tame--there is a technical descent section in the beginning but after that its a fast desert sprint. Its mostly downhill but you need some pedal assist to maintain speed and it flows awesome but its really not that long. Its not an out and back so you'd need someone to shuttle you back unless you want to pedal uphill in the hot desert. Barrel is a also flowy with jumps but it has a big climb to get you to the top.

The ebikes kind of disappeared around here, but for some reason they’re making a comeback again.

While I have nothing against them, they are operating a motorized vehicle while everybody else is actually cranking it with their own human power.

Actually I hope it breaks so I can replace it with a Dreadnought.

I need to pull the rear end off it, it's making some horrible crunchy noise. Probably just dry pivots , I've never had this one apart except when I put the mullet link on it.

100%. My exception may only be to these interesting motorized unicycles popping up near me… although all e bikes are banned at this trail I frequent haha

are they the one wheels you ride like a skateboard, standing sideways? or the unicycle things where youre facing forward? there have been a few of the facing forward ones around here that seem to be commuting. nothing out on the trails though.

For a while we had trails being torn up by what were essentially high-powered electrified dirt bikes with paddle rear tires.

Now I just see electrified halo DS bikes like $18,000 Treks.

Spent the last two weekends at Walden’s Ridge. Fun trail system, the rocks are completely new to this flat lander.

    Three back to back rides.

Thursday I WFH and wanted to take advantage of DST.

Took Friday off to go camp and hit the bike park but plans fell through. Rode locally with my wife.

Saturday - There was a bike swap meet at a local trail but no one set up to sell anything? Rode at the trail instead.

Walden's ridge is impressive to be a free place to ride. I did one lap on the regular bike coming back from Gatlinburg 2 years ago. 1 lap was all I had time to do. I clapped my suspension so hard on those drops on the way down landing on flat, it was dale bermhart and Bullwinkle I took down. It's definitely somewhere I wanna take the emtb.
