The howling wind out of the W/NW was keeping the smoke really low. If not for the South fork Catoctin Creek and the marshes, the fire would have moved much quicker. The number of responders was incredible.
Started from a month-old burn pile that wasn't properly extinguished.
Then the next day there was another fire south of Leesburg. Some moron was burning in red flag conditions.

Picking up downed branches. Removing dead trees. Keeping everything mowed to a season-appropriate height. Simple stuff goes a long way.
The crazy ones are where the mulch combusts in Ashburn suburbia and houses go up.

Mostly Stock for now, 265 75 16 Falken AT3W, Tinted fronts...
We keep it mostly trimmed and cleaned but I'll have to take a look at a section with pine trees, There is so much cover that it stays fairly dry unless we get a ton of rain.

I think it was last year I had to stop and put out a mulch fire from a cigarette butt here in Purcellville in the median near Harris Teeter. Still amazes me people will throw lit cigarettes wherever they please, especially when we are in a drought and its super windy.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
    A little update.

First, thanks for the well wishes.

The FD's used the road to our immediate east as the hard stop point. Fire burned up to that road in places. They also used the first cleared property on that road as the hard stop to the north. No damage within our community, but the train area took some. I drove in a little ways, but turned back as I wanted to get to our house. All that stood between us and the fire was a 12 acre lot, about 500 yards. Too close for comfort. But the community came together and supported fire personnel and each other. Some in the community out checking hot spots and such today.

a few things, and some vinyl....
The TRD off-road suspension is also an awesome upgrade for anyone with a 2nd gen. More compliance and a little bit of lift over the factory stuff.

I probably shouldn't be buying anything either. I'm a federal worker and it seems sometimes that I can loose my job at any moment.

    What’s happening guys?

I got out on a nice day for an 80-90 mile scoot. Felt damn good to get a ride in, too. Nothing was worth stopping and getting a picture of unless I count my piss stop.

2023 professionally fabricated offroad trailer with a 2024 Roofnest Condor tent. Exactly 5 nights of usage in the tent, it’s in immaculate condition. Trailer always garaged. The build is beefier than anything on the market. Only weighs 1100lb. I drove it 3000 miles from California, it tracks amazingly well with perfectly balanced road manners. $7000

    - Every component on the trailer was purchased brand new during the build. 4000 miles total

    - Added new Roofnest Falcon 2 in 2024. Comes with interior lighting, ladder, 2 exterior shoe bags, and the magic ground mat. Never exposed to wood smoke.

    - 33” tires on Procomp wheels.

    - 2 full size spares.

    - Front and rear stabilizer jacks.

    - Max Coupler articulating hitch.

    - The design is a clone of the M416 military trailer but built stronger and larger with a modern suspension for stability.

    - Main frame is 4”x3”x1/8” rectangle tube.

    - Dimensions: Tub = 56”x81”, Track width = 74”, tongue length = 65” extendable to 75”.

    - Removable dirt bike/mountain bike mount on tongue, comes with ramp. E-track mounted on tongue for tie down points.

    - Dexter 3500lb axle on Jeep Wrangler YJ leaf springs and Monroe shocks.

    - Comes with a 10 gallon high strength Iron Man water tank.

    - Never used Roofnest pop up shower.

    - Genuine Hi-lift jack sand blasted and painted.
