Noticed that my nectarines and plums have set fruit. Deer is eating nectarine branches pretty badly. Need to put a wire fence around them

Marigolds keep a lot of bad things away (bugs, some animals & etc) ... including mosquitos on our from porch ...

Ever notice that they don't really smell good like most flowers ?

Pinch the heads as they finish blooming, and they will bloom again. Leave the last blooms of the season, and they will self seed in your raised bed.

Unless you have gophers hahaha. I lived in the mountains near Yosemite and had re- landscaped our front yard. Built a beautiful retaining wall and hauled rich soil over from the apple orchard to fill it. An old timer stopped by and asked if I had put chicken wire down before I filled that last 8” with soil? I said nope! He laughed walked away saying you’ll be sorry. Planted a beautiful lawn with nice planting berms and lined the berms with Marigolds, Blue Salvia, and Coreopsis. Man it was beautiful. As we were sitting enjoying the fruits of our labor the Marigolds started shaking and then disappearing into the ground. Like something out of a cartoon. By the end of the day the gophers had eaten every Marigold we had planted. Old timer was right!!!
