More the brace below the hood latch (not sure what top call it). Purchased the light bar directly from Stedi (online). Reusing the Diode Dynamics mounting brackets that came with my previous set up.

Yes officer, according to the giant letters on the back, it was definitely a Tacoma.

Also enjoying everyone calling it a stamp; reminds me of the late 90s tramp stamp craze. “TACOMA” - tramp stamp of the auto world.

Purchased an alternator for what seems like a good deal as long as it is infact Denso.
I have a squeel or howl coming from it that is driving me nuts. Volts seem to be constant and no baterry or starting issues, so Im thinking bearing. Truck now has 205 000 km.

I took a stethoscope to it and the othrr accessories and my untrained ear thinks it's the culprit. I swapped out belt and #2 pulley first just for maintenance at 190 000 km but that didnt fix it.
Power steering pump is the next noisiest but accessory but let's see if this is the fix.
Fan clutch bearing seems sturdy and little play.
About 230.00 CAD shipped to door. 130 Amp Denso version. Great find for us northerners IMO. Oem part #

Installed the 41.22 kill switch. Due to my second battery setup the works were a but more complicated... Had to remove the fuse/isolator panel which meant I had to disconnect both batteries. Drilled a hole in the relay box, cut the new relay wire and ran it through a grommet through the relay box wall. That should make it pretty much water proof. Then ran the wires up to the vault in the middle console where the switch is now. Thought I was done after putting all together again! Wrong! The 2023 Taco TRD OR needs the reverse relay installed, not the normal relay. But now it all works fine. Switch off - lights are all on and fuel pump active. but engine does not start. Switch on- car starts.

No pics because there are hundreds out here from other trucks already:
    • Reinstalled a New Ham Radio (Vero VGC NR-7500)
    • Reinstalled my Dash Cams
    • Cleaned out and audited all of the gear under and behind the rear seat.
    • Charged or replaced batteries in the flashlights
    • Added some black overlay's on the Chrome Tacoma and V6 Badging
    • Removed the mudflaps

Next week I will be doing some light weight off roading (might be lots of mud with all our recent rain) and I have routes mapped but there will be no cell coverage so I tested my onX offline mapping program. I just set a route locally that included a section with no cell coverage and it worked perfectly.

I really like that the offline onX maps show on the truck screen and the trucks GPS tracks the truck on them.

I know onX is old news, but it's new to me....

agreed, it’s very useful. I use onX and Gaia. Gaia’s user interface isn’t nearly as good.

is that OnX with CarPlay? I dont have that option with CarPlay; I’m using BackCountry not the off-road though.

Some suspension goodies showed up today, just waiting on Hotshot Offroad to assemble my front shocks.
I'm going a slightly different route than normal and pairing the rear 8100 dsa with 6112 up front.
I couldn't quite stomach the $3800 for the full 8100 setup.

    I know.
If the front shocks didn't cost $2400 for the pair I would have gone full 8100. Both 6112 with 650 springs was $200 less than the cost of one 8112.

I can't wait until June, when I have a road trip to the north shore planned, to go hit some low maintenance dirt roads.
Then in August I'm going to Austin, TX to see my daughter for her 21st birthday and one of the days I plan on driving Padre Island. So hopefully once I get away from all the crowds I can really open it up on the beach.
