I compared the data points on the curves at different RPM's in the typical driving range. Nothing crazy, but I think only looking at max Hp and Tq doesn't tell the whole story. The hybrid power delivery in low rpm's is really great.

are there any additional videos, the current one he doesn't drive the PRO much and seems to very biased to the non hybrid. I am getting the tune regardless, but curious if anyone besides him has the hybrid tune. He notes the 0-60 quite a bit and I know a lot of people care about that, but I have noticed that 0-60 isn't where this truck shines anyway. The 20-80 is where the hybrid really has power band kick in. just my .02.

I just tuned my 25 Pro and am impressed. The hybrid lag and turbo lag are very gone. I’ll post a vid and some feedback soon.

The Hybrid tune is a good start but it's not really a "hybrid" tune. I want a tune for the the ICE and the electric motor. I haven't driven mine enough to check this but I imagine you could do a half dozen or more 0-60 runs before the battery is depleted. What if there were an insane/ludicrous mode that gave increased power but only gave you 2-3 0-60 runs before depleting the battery? Not sure if this would require an inverter upgrade or if the inverter is controlled by software. Ideally the "high power" mode would be activated when the gas pedal is to the floor (WOT). Under normal and even spirited driving (less than WOT) it would use the original programming.

That’s not currently “possible”, just FYI. There is no way at present time to map the hybrid motor controller independently.

The 1.87 KW battery, if there was a send all the juice mode wouldn’t last a quarter mile, it’s just too small and is the limiting factor for better MPG for the Tacoma/Tundra. I’m surprised Toyota didn’t put a larger battery in their pickups.

Bigger battery= more weight & more space.
Purpose of the system was short bursts of power supplement, not sustained assistance. Certainly not primary power plant as it would be in other hybrids focused on range boosting.

Often lost in the noise is the fact that Li-ion batteries don't do well with high hard deep power draws, Ni based handle this better. That's why boats, starters, and pretty much every electric tractor uses these heavier, lower density batteries and not Li based.

I'd be elated if I could actually get 23mpg as my average, given that my purchase spec was 24-23-24 (which Toyota has dropped to 24-23-23 for the '25s). Granted it's been winter, but in stock setup I'm averaging 18.7 give or take, with my highest tank average being just over 20mpg. And I'm not someone pretending that I have a role in The Fast and The Furious.

Thank you!! We’ll be sure to reach out once it’s ready. I’m excited for it, as are some of our retailers who also have LC250’s.

Hi I have the 2025 LC 250 and imagine the new hybrid tune works on Tacoma/4Runner and LC? My view on the LC hybrid is its a bit quirky and unbalanced. For example if going up a steep hill it will want to stay in 3rd and hangs gets confused when should be in 2nd etc. It just feels like the drivetrain software needs to be tightened up and improved upon. Also in the hybrid if going up a mountain road at 60 you can feel vibration in the steering wheel. So if go to sport mode can make the shifts better but then the LC gets more buzzy from the hybrid at times. I'd be interested in some HP and torque gains but don't want to jeopardize longevity. Are these addressed in the tune? How much boost are you adding. I know there are tons of tuners doing Suburu WRX for example but those engines die early as the boost was too high from some tunes. I'd prefer only a modest increase in boost. Thanks!

The LC uses a different control strategy compared to the Tacoma and 4Runner. It's not a "copy/paste" situation despite the identical engines.

Once the calibration is ready for the LC, we can provide the details you're looking for regarding that platform, but for now nothing is finalized.
