    Jesus on that FOD issue. That is so fundamentally unbelievable and unacceptable. the amount of time I've spent inside a hot pile of aluminum with a vac and rags. Or following behind someone who did.

    No. Sadly, as someone else pointed out, that B-17 (909) was the one that later crashed in Connecticut. My friend/hangar neighbor was flying the -17 the day I was in the B-24 and taking pix. He arranged the -24 ride for me. He was diplomatic about the condition of the B-17 but it was clear he didn't want to fly it anymore. History proved why.

    Very sad to see the news at Joint Base Langley-Eustis yesterday, with the loss of Rob Holland. I never had the opportunity to meet Rob, but I did have the privilege to see him fly several times. He always gave the audience a spectacular performance. I'm sad I won't get to see him do it again, but am thankful for the incredibly positive impact he left on the world of aviation. These are just a few photos I have of Rob, taken in 2023.
