Update: Meh I just saw you need a full size spare and a GMRS or ham radio. I don’t have either.

My spare is still a 265/75/16 because I never got a new one after I went up to 33’s.

 

I have a handheld radio you could barrow if I’m there.

I would think that still counts as a full size spare, well close enough. I’d guess they really mean no donuts. I may also be talking out my a$$

 

That would be cool, I appreciate it! I also could get my own handheld, I imagine they aren’t very expensive. I was thinking about vehicle based radios, totally forgot you can get little handheld ones.

Yeah maybe I can find out if my spare would count since it’s a legit BF Goodrich tire. Just an inch smaller in diameter.

 

I think the ones I got were $40 from Best Buy. I don’t think they offer them anymore though.

My biggest gripe are the horrible seats and seating positions. I've tried seat jackers, they helped a tiny bit. Anything longer than 2 hrs behind the wheel and my lower back is throbbing, my ankles go numb from the odd angles of my feet and the pedals, and my neck is almost numb. I've bent the head rest "arms" so the head rest is straight up and down instead of being angled INTO my neck. All in all, it's a miserable vehicle for me to drive around in. It's been mechanically reliable for the past 4.5 years, the biggest repair was replacing the drivers side front wheel bearing hub last 2 years ago. It's ready for lower control arms ( for new bushings and BJ's) but that's just wear and tear maintenance.

Just for comparisons sake, my old '99 T4R Limited is a pleasure to take a long drive in. I drove that 35hrs straight to CO a few years ago.

 

I think I remember you telling us about that drive when we all met at Toyotas and Coffee. I’d hold on to that T4R forever!

It stinks the Tacoma is so uncomfortable for you.

 

Ah, yea, I think I remember reading that it was the seating position. The Tacoma seats are. Or the most comfortable lol. You could still get a pretty penny for it through a private sale but I don’t get the impression that’s the plan.

 

I could sell it and get a decent amount, like you said, but it would be less than 1/2 of what I need to get the 5th gen T4R that I'd like. I love my old 3rd gen T4R but it will need a frame swap to get any more life out of it. I wanted to keep it to 300K but I don't think it's going to make it. I just don't want another car loan over my head, especially at the current rates. The loan on the Taco came from my credit union at 3.2%, they aren't giving away their money like that anymore.

Yea, I was looking around and unless it’s a “cheap” car with a special dealer rate, those rates are not common.

I take the requirements with a grain of salt. Last time it said a fire extinguisher was required. Better to check of course, but if you plan to stay in greens, you should be good

Yeah I was just planning on doing green trails since that’s what I do most of the time out in the “real world” lol

 

if you stay on the east side… maybe it’s east… on the other side of the street, you shouldn’t have much to worry about. Those trails were nice. I don’t remember being too stressed on that side and didn’t feel like I was going to break anything.

 

Ok cool, good to know. Yeah I mean I’m sure my truck is capable of the medium trails, I just don’t feel like damaging anything since I don’t have any armor lol

I would mainly be going to enjoy the outdoors and hangout with other Tacoma peeps. I don’t need to be doing anything crazy hahah

We’re driving to Montana and then Moab later this year so I need the truck in one piece
