I'm prolly going to start doing as much as possible with PTFE hose in the future which should be more robust, but there are several cases when I need CFE because they need traditional hose clamps

 

Does poly react poorly to engine oil? I know it doesn't like molybdenum and I know rubber and oil are bad news together.

 

Ya it reacts about the same as the rubber. I recently had to replace a sway bar bushing because when I had the low mount turbo, it would constantly get soaked, and it finally split in half. They like...start to melt, it's weird

 

I did my drain with some Parker industrial shield oil line. But next time I redo it, I will have our local hose place make it out of stainless braided PTFE lined stuff too. The stuff they have claims 1100° direct contact safety and they crimp the fittings on which is nice on something like this. I don't mind making fuel AN lines or coolant, but something with a protective jacket this robust would be hard to put the ends on yourself.

 

1100°, wow! How much more does that stuff run than normal Amazon junk?

 

The last line we ordered they made with -10 AN ends on it at 18" total length was like $60, I think... might have been a little less and they included another fireproof wrapping too.

The address in my TW bio is actually to the place in question. The Spokane House of Hose, if its a line, fitting, hose, they either have it or can make it.

 

Whew, that's steep. Though I guess if they've got legit brand name terminations on them it's not bad. I'm pulling my coolant loop at the heater hoses so those alone are like 3-4ft each (x4).. only 6AN though

 

That place is amazing. You can walk in, place your order and wait a few minutes for them to make it for you. Can't beat that. It is faster than the McDonalds down the street.

 

These are my trims from the last week since adding the band clamp to the high side of that flex pipe. Crazy. Note this is also despite ADDING fuel due to the recent FPR reference change. Also you can see I do not use my rev range lol.



I also noticed after fillup I am back to getting 50 miles before a quarter tank is gone so I'll probably at least get to 15mpg

 

What's your trimming delay, chances are even if you went higher in your range it isn't trimming there anyway cause of the delay

 

Think it's 0.25s up there

Right in the danger RPM zone of peak torque too. Be careful with that

 

I plumbed my boost controller backwards when I replaced the hoses

 

Ouch, you're lucky it didn't go higher and that all your map had been trending way rich. 16psi was a hoot but I don't daily it there on 180k stock internals haha, my setup would just love to shoot past that. Can't imagine what kind of fun 25psi would be... on pump gas, before it escorted one of my pistons to the outer reaches of the atmosphere.

 

ya and ever since my MAP sensor from the SCG-1 melted (manifold ref), I only have the two HF analog gauges to rely on (boost port ref)

 

Picked up an efan off a 2006 e350 that I'm gonna try and retrofit to work with my 3rz. Sizing worked out to be pretty close to stock core size and has integrated bosch pmw module.

 

Well didn't expect to get it installed and running tonight, but it went together pretty easy.
Can't believe how good of a fit it ended up being.

Pulsing at 128hz. The duty cycle settings are backwards from normal, but in reading around online that seems to be the norm for these. 10 is full speed and any more than 85 is off.

Need to give it some drive time and see how it handles the coming summer temps.
Also need to measure FLA to get a fuse on the +12v feed.

Is 85% actually off, or is the actualized current just not enough to get it spinning? If the latter, you's save some parasitic draw by just making it 100.

 

That would be a pretty hilarious fail if I got it installed and it was blowing air out the front of the truck.
I believe it's just not enough to get it spinning because when I had in on the bench you could see the blade just barely twitching at that DC. I should add another column below 180 to scale up from 100

 

This makes me want to do an e-fan myself. I just have had so many fail relative to mechanically driven ones which have never failed on me. Even scarier to rely on a single fan version. No N-1
