One of Amanda’s landlady’s birds escaped the enclosure today, and we helped her catch it…

I would like to first point out that I was not involved in this, but rather I was a witness; I was driving back to my house after taking Amanda home. There is this infamous section of County Line Road right between Chalfont and Warrington where it goes from two lanes to one; I was on the left when a white Hyundai Ioniq (a hybrid; think "Prius wannabe") blew past me on the right and cut me off. There were two more cars in front of the Hyundai, and I don't know why this asshole was in such a hurry. but he a crossed the double yellow line and passed both cars in the opposing lane! Where the hell is a cop when you need one?!?!

Most of the time, people who drive like that, drive like that all the time.
Their time is coming......a cop will be there one day.

Yesterday, while we were on our way home after Amanda's mother's funeral service, I was getting off the turnpike at Willow Grove and some asshole in an HVAC van ran me off the road because he was upset that I wouldn't let him in. I was in the right lane, and without even signaling, he tried to force his way in. He was in a Ford Transit with a utility body, one of the bigger ones with a 1-ton dually-style rear axle. I laid on the horn and pulled forward in an attempt to give him a hard no, but he laid on his horn and proceeded to almost force me into a Camry that was broken down on the shoulder. I passed the HVAC van, and the Chevy Equinox in front of the HVAC van, and got in front of the Chevy. The guy in the HVAC van made a left turn shortly after we got onto 611.

Should I have let him in? Yes, probably. However, I wasn't moving. He didn't signal from what I could tell and just tried to force his way in. I do not like being behind larger vehicles, and I don't like bullies. If he'd been in a Mitsubishi Mirage or something, I would have stood my ground, but he was in a huge commercial vehicle that would have really done a number on my truck. I've had my driver's license since May 2011, I would say that I really started noticing increased aggressiveness from other motorists from 2017 onward, and it's only gotten worse since COVID started.

People are assholes, I remember someone cutting in next to me in the breakdown lane/shoulder of a funeral procession when I had the Nissan Frontier rental. Her car was half the size of the truck. She actually got mad at me. I rolled down the passenger window, pulled the bright orange tag off the mirror and held it up yelling "FUNERAL PROCESSION YOU ASSHOLE!!!"

Around here, people are pretty respectful of funeral processions; I’ve only actually driven in one once in my life, and I’ll admit it was pretty fun getting to run red lights!

One of them was my uncle, who was military. We went from Weymouth MA to Bourne MA (a national cemetery), about 45 minutes with no traffic. We had a team of motorcycle police who went ahead and blocked each on ramp so we had nothing but the open highway.

I recently had an idiot in a lifted Silverado get off the highway and go down the exit ramp, then at the point of no return he yanked the steering wheel to the left and came all the way across the median to get back on the highway and cut in front of me. He should have just taken the freakin exit for as far down the ramp he was at that point, there was most likely an entrance ramp somewhere in the vicinity.

We have had all the critters out the last week here.
Weather has been in the 70's close to 80.
Those Blue tailed skinks are running everywhere.
I have to chase them off the door step all the time.
Those little bastards like to run in the house when you open the door.
    And they are fast......

Sorry I haven’t really been posting, but it’s been a hell of a week. Last Thursday, we had a military funeral for Amanda’s late mother. The autopsy results and toxicology report are not in yet, but we were able to get a temporary death certificate so the military would go through with the service. It was a beautiful service.

I thought things were going to go back to normal with my old boss, Sam, but it looks like that will not be the case in this lifetime. I’ve know Sam since probably June 2011, and I worked for her at a bar called Puck from November 2014 to January 2019. I met her dad for the first time in 2015 when he came out to visit.

Sam and her husband bought a house in late 2019, shortly after they got married. Even during COVID, they had a family reunion there every July, with the first one being in 2020. The last full-on party where I ended up needing to designate a driver in order to get home was in 2021, I believe (possibly 2022).

I started dating Amanda in January 2023, and got permission to bring her to that year’s party. I took a route I didn’t normally take to pick up Amanda, and I ended up with a $202.50 ticket from the Horsham Township PD for doing 45 in a 25. One of my friends, who also has Aspergers, got a ticket for the exact same thing on the exact same stretch of road. Both of us now avoid that road, a section of Maple Avenue between County Line Road and Route 611 in Horsham, like the plague. Both of us went to court and got the charges reduced to a lower fine and no points.

Anyway, I was not in the greatest of moods when Amanda and I finally got to Sam’s house, and this might have led to me coming off as rather gruff.

I have known Sam since 2011, her dad since 2015, and the rest of her family since probably 2020. It’s not like we were strangers. I did not find out about this until almost a year after it happened, but I allegedly said “something political” that made Sam’s family uncomfortable; Amanda was asked about her past prior to dating me and she also allegedly said something that made one of the family members uncomfortable. Sam had to rush her elderly dog to the vet and left us with her husband and family.

Because of shit we can’t even remember saying, Sam has refused to ever invite us back to her house when her family is there. She either doesn’t remember what was said or refuses to tell us, but over the last few months I have been communicating with her via text. We were talking via text two days ago, and things were going great. We were going to meet up at a public park in Doylestown and walk her dog. She then got really angry when I tried to pry into what I did wrong and said we couldn’t be friends. I sent an apology to her, EVEN THOUGH I STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT I DID OR SAID, and after almost two days it said she still hadn’t read it.

I would like to keep things amicable between us, but I know that things will likely never be the way they were prior to COVID.

She is currently pregnant with her first child, plus she and her husband have two dogs and a mortgage, among other things; I fully understand her stress at the situation, but I think it is nothing short of bullshit that she is throwing away 14 years of friendship and a nearly 4-year working relationship over something so petty. I have been incredibly depressed about this over the course of the last two days, alternating between anger at how she handled it and regret over how I handled it.

Well, whatever was said must not of been that bad that you don't remember, plus you reached out to her numerous times and even apologized, what more can u do ? Give her some space and time. Stop beating up yourself , move on. Life's to short.

Sounds like you took every step forward to try to resolve whatever is bothering her, pretty much out of your hands at this point. Maybe some day she will come around and realize it's not worth staying angry or upset.
