Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
have to check that one out. glad it's not a mustard base. the "little pig" from ward's is what i tend to go for...bed of rice, pulled pork on top, then hash over it all, plus the corn dodgers...mmmmm. i have a quart of their hash in my freezer i might have to break out soon.

Definitely not mustard, only vinegar pepper sauce as God intended. McCabe's will tell you ketchup and mustard belong on hot dogs, not pulled pork. They are one of the few places in the state (and they are all in the same area) that serve old school SC BBQ. Whole hog, cooked slow over coals, sauce mopped on as it cooks. Be aware they are only open Thursday-Saturday (like most legit BBQ places) 11-2, cash only.

And in Sumter you have Maple's. I haven't been yet but it's also supposed to be legit. Apparently it's very smokey, right up my alley.

I'm unfamiliar with them. Hopefully some Sumter folks will chime in.

Got my transmission serviced today at Toyota. They forgot to unpin the transmission… then acted like I was an idiot when I brought their tool back.

Schuler’s in Marion is good if you are in that neck of the woods. I wouldn’t just take a trip there. I try avoid Manning. My ex wife grew up there. :anonymous:

McCabe’s :drool: it’s been a while but you don’t forget good BBQ. And the perlow is really good as well. I tried some in my younger days in kingstree at a hunting club that was awful I almost didn’t try MaCabe’s because of it.

I'm down. Let's actually do this rather than talk about it and everyone bail at the last minute.

I always tell some of my northern friends when you’re sitting in a parking lot full of cars. But the building has you trying to remember when you had your last tetanus shot that’s your best barbecue or fish camp. Go on in!

I haven't been in years but brasstown falls bbq in westminster was really good. It's an old wood cabin on a dirt road. You smell it before you get there. Also Fresh air bbq in Athens is one of my all time favorites. There was a really good spot that overlooked the taullah gorge (once again just an old wooded building) but covid killed it.
