Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I get it. It is really hard to get to much of anything prior to them heading out of the country to central and South America.

Yeah absolutely. Most of these diffs aren’t listed on car-part or anywhere that I’ve seen so I had to grab this manual while I could. I’ll be PCSing for CCC once I get back in the next few months so it was a now or never kind of deal.

How’s that transgo kit been working out for your tranny? And what setting did you go with?

I have a 340f sitting and might as well overhaul it before it gets converted.

I am also thinking of switching the torque converter to a TO59 Recon tc. For whoever is aware of them.

It really firmed up the shifts. It may have been fine without it but it gives me the warm and fuzzy that there isn’t as much slippage as before. I think I went with the mild of the options. What are the options? It might come back to me if you jog my memory.

I read the different options somewhere but can’t remember for the life of me. When I get to operating on it I’m sure I’ll have more questions then.

Forgot to include this quick quality of life mod.

Honda Odyssey spray nozzle mod. Pictured is the adjustable fan spray on the left, middle is a Dorman ford fusion (fan spray non adjustable), and OEM on the right.

Put in this airaid MIT this morning and most likely found the occasional vacuum leak code I have been getting.

The tube really is a hoe and a half to get on. While shimmying the tube into the airbox outlet I noticed that it was partially giving way as if it was cracked…sure enough the truck’s parts are starting to show its age.

Gorilla taped around it for now and did a test drive. Idled around 550-680ish which isn’t ideal but wasn’t enough to trigger a code. I will have to buy a new stock box soon. But hey at least it freed up some space - I also didn’t really notice any difference in performance or sound.

On the other hand there has been some talk about driving around with ECT on to penny out MPGs and I admit I sort of forgot about it. While test driving I was getting some serious smiles per gallon in conjunction with the s/c.

More MX today. Swapped out the airbox with another OEM one I got from the Toyota yard.

$130 not bad…better than $400 for a new one. Oiled filters are not welcome here so the sticker had to go.

    IMG_6311.jpg

Here’s the original one coming out. It’s always the easy fixes that seem to bring up more issues. But as pictured, the inlet neck is cracked halfway around.

    IMG_6320.jpg

When trying to take the MAF sensor out one of the screws was stripped, naturally. Enter the dremel. Unfortunately the diameter on my cutting disk was too big to properly notch the screw head without cutting into the MAF housing. Didn’t feel like going out to buy a smaller one so I drilled the screw out.

    IMG_6318.jpg

I called the dealership and luckily they had these on hand. The part # is not listed on the parts catalog but the parts guy ended up finding these. In case anyone needs to replace the MAF hardware here’s the part #.

Simple green and a rinse and this junkyard piece is looking good.

    Good idle!

Also got around to upgrading some of the lighting to LEDs which has been much needed. Great service from @csjumper2003

I haven’t taken any pics of the dome or map lights but I also switched out the shifter light.

I attempted the a/c cluster lights and unless I’m stupid or inept, these lights don’t seem to hold in the control board. No matter how much I try to turn them clockwise they just fall out. Any thoughts?

The quality on Relentless Fab’s work is A1. Finally got a rear swing out with tire carrier. Last pic is the Jerry can holder.
