Yeah, we took the e-bikes out last weekend and I wanted to come back on a mtb. You can definitely party more on an ebike lol.

I got a run and a half down on my Stumpjumper. Haven’t had the courage to hit the black lines, they are intimidating haha. The YT vids show a lot more fill dirt in the rocks than what I’ve been experiencing, so maybe it will smooth out.

Any issues with the rainbow/oil slick coming off the cassette after ultrasonic cleaning?

I've read a few reports of this occurring but it wasn't specific to the SRAM 1299's.

I have the same cleaner (6L) and a dirty ass copper cassette and chain, but don't wanna jack up the color.

    Thanks!

No issues with the oil slick coming off the chain or cassette. The oil slick color has worn off over time so it wasn't as bright as when it was new anyway. Here is a before and after shot.

Once you tilt it on edge it becomes a wheel and you can roll it. Slit ~8’ of 1/2” drip supply tubing if you want to “rubberize” the edge.

Anyone with outbound lights have a recommendation on a third party usb c to usb c cable I can use to charge my lights? Like 3 or 4 of my current cables don't fit. The provided cables it came with are snug, but fit. I have one cable at work that seems to fit.

I emailed Outbound and they said their cable is a special because its designed to keep grime out while pass through charging during a ride. That makes sense, but I also want a single cable I can leave at my little charging hub that will fit everything else I need to charge with usb c.

Went for my first ride of the year (I know I know...)

Exactly one year after I got my new bike...

I could have sworn I charged my SRAM derailleur battery a week or three ago. Unfortunately I was in a rush and didn't ride my bike around the driveway like I normally do.

Get to the trailhead, battery was totally dead. SOOO LAME.

We try to keep a charger in the car. 10-15 minute charge should be enough for a ride.

forgetting to charge a battery is understandable.

yesterday i was in such a rush to get out for a ride right after work, i forgot my water bottle. realized it 5 min from my house (i rode from my house to the trail head). luckily the coffee shop on the way was open, sells bottled water, and has tap to pay! got real lucky lol

    pics from the ride:

I’ve had that happen a few times with my GPS or lights. For that reason alone, I know wireless isn’t for me. I’m not great at remembering to keep things charged.

What's funny is I'm super anal about that stuff. I swear I could have rode the bike all last summer without charging (but did anyways). Feels like the battery must discharge just as much riding as it does sitting around. Guessing when I last charged it I didn't wait for it to be 100% or something.

Even though I check the battery when I load the bike up, I always have an AXS battery charging in my car plus a couple of 2032 batteries in the glove box. Just in case.

Proper testing starting tomorrow through the weekend with the new spring goodies installed on the bike. Fresh rear shock rebuild along with a new fork, front wheel, and kryptotals all around. :)
