i just picked up a taco tunes dual 10" sub box. Each side has .45 cu ft of air space.

What sub would you guys recommend using? I just want clean bass but don;t want to break the bank either. I'll be running the subs with a alpine pdx 1.600.

Thanks again for all the help in advance....=)

Sorry, forgot to add that the mounting depth is 5.5in.

sorry again...would i need to go with a shallow sub to give myself more options...i also like the image dynamic subs but i don't like the cost...=(

Just want to say thanks again for putting up with these newbie questions!!!!

Maybe either the Dayton HO or HF subwoofers. Both are reasonable and sound great.

^I've never heard one but they look promising. I'm curious though that they claim they are IB capable. Low QTS and it requires a smaller box. I think they'd do quite well in the OP's application though.

Im running Image Dyanics IDQ v3 10" subs with .625 cubic feet each (1.25 shared) and it is still not quite enough. Id pass on the IDQ subs for that size box. They are not expensive though, only like $200 bucks each which is really middle of the road.

I sell a subaru spare tire enclosure and the sq10 is what i recommend. They sound great with a small volume and they are cheap at 70 bucks. Sometimes you don't have to spend a lot to get a lot. Elemental designs is a good company, with a great product

The sub is (apparently ) based on a a Tang Band sub, but is cheaper through ED. I also modeled it up this morning before I left for work, and the theoretical output difference between it and the Dayton HO subs are not huge, only about 1.5db (winISD beta).

Seems like a pretty good compromise, and not too expensive, with good response in the box you have listed.

Yeah, it's no secret they're pretty much the same.
Nice, link to said enclosure? I sell one for the Legacy's that fits in the spare but it can house anything 6" deep or less. :D
